Great idea! Question. Will it change each time the automatic headlights come on? The fogs come on with the headlights as long as I leave it on automatic.

I agree it is a great idea, if it was physically possible for a row of LED chips on each side of a flat circuit board to produce the same light pattern as a halogen wire filement. And these are not even on the same line of focus. The yellow and white chips are offset to each side. That answers the "excellent pattern" argument, at least they said "similar to halogen" in another location. This the same reason LED bulbs are not "technically" legal for use in headlights made for halogen bulbs. The pattern will not be, and cannot be, as good as with the bulbs that it was designed for.

To answer your switching question the answer is, maybe yes, maybe no. People have had issues with other similar bulbs. They have evenly had them get out of sync, with one side being yellow and the other being white. I believe turning them off for a minute and turning them back on will re-sync them.

I read about the dual lamp LED's: the whites come on first by default. You turn the fog light switch to off then back on to switch to amber.

From Microsoft copilot - yellow fog lights are traditionally better for driving in poor weather conditions, while white fog lights are good for general driving and offer better overall visibility.

I think the pattern looks good. Bottom of the blue tape on the doors is the top of the fog light. Truck is about 6 feet from the cabinets.
