Does anybody have the Builtright Industries bed side system and use Rotopax cans? Looking for the pros and cons. I'm often out miles away from anything, looking for a way to store water and fuel securely. Wondering if the rotoplax will fit at the front of the bed above the wheel wells?

I have both of these things. No, it doesn't fit above the wheel well, only in behind it. Doesn't matter what they say, the rotopax do swell if left unventilated. Good news is that the way they are designed they don't spill even if you leave the cap a little loose (obviously depending on how full you fill it and what orientation you put it in) I'm quite happy with mine haven't really had any issues with it coming off or coming loose or anything. I will say if you plan on attaching anything else to the built right rack, you are going to want a front and back panel instead of just the back. The rotopax take up a good chunk of space that might be otherwised used for larger items.

i think the smaller roto pax will, 2.5 gallon. however, i went a different way and saved some cash. for 100 ish bucks you can get a marine fuel tank intended for a boat that is in all respects safe as any other jerry can etc. most of them have molded in securing spots so they are easy to ratchet strap etc. to keep secure. for the cost of a 5 gallon rotopax you can get a sturdy marine tank with the accessories and carry more extra fuel. I also use a china brand jerry can some times. long- haul. its a copy of a aussie brand but cost half as much and its sturdy. also has a securing system and attaching points. im not anti roto pax just cant bring my self to spend what they want for the cans and goodies to go with while gas is so dang pricey.

Do you know if this mount will work with this can?

It should. I bought builtrights mounting plate as well. Helps distribute the load to the rack but you could get away with just what you posted.

That mount is in my cart on the builtright website too. Just trying to figure out what I need from Rotopax.

I saw pics of a truck where the guy had mounted the rotopax brackets to the front of the bed. As an emergency supply, being out of the way isn’t an issue.
I almost ordered the parts to do this. I decided to wait until I needed it as it is expensive. You still read the odd story about the container leaking. I really don’t want all the stuff in the bed (clothes, tent, bag chairs) smelling like gas. I also don’t want to run out of gas, so at some point I may need to make a decision here.

Good luck with the project, keep us updated.
