I had a similar issue and found a solid fix through https://thelockdoc.ca — they were quick and knew what they were doing. They managed to sort out my broken key without messing with the ignition or charging a fortune. Gave me a new key that works perfectly. Worth checking them out if you're stuck or don’t want to go through the dealer hassle.

Key blade is just solid metal(no chip inside it). They always seem to break at that hinge part, but I've never seen it replaced before. :thumbsup:

If anyone's looking to buy the blade by itself some dealers do carry them & are able to cut/copy them. Should be around $15 or less.
