A friend just gave me a bell tent (Sibley 400) and I am really stoked on it. Its the kinda thing I would have never bought myself but now that i have it I am so excited about it. It is vey spacious, pretty great for our family of 3 + dog. i like the idea of adding a stove to it for hot tenting in the winter, or the bottom wall zips down for summer camping. It is very glampy but extreme quality and very much a serious basecamp. Just wanted to see if anyone here has camped in this type of tent before. I pitched it in my yard and it actually goes up pretty quickly for how large of a tent it is. Took me about 15 mins mostly cause of all the stake outs. Its really heavy(for a tent) but packs up in a large duffle and is smaller than my gazelle tent. The funny think about the Gazelle tent is everyone says it pitches in 1 min, wich it does but it also has about 12 stake outs so in reality its about a 7 min pitch if you dont want a gust of wind flattening it.

Kinda interesting. Not too bad if planning to stay at a spot for a few days. For one like myself that prefers to be on the move I prefer the Swag Style tent since you don't have a house setup in the tent.

yah its not ideal for those moving around a lot but seems to be a great base camp. When it was just my wife and i we wouldn't stay at one place longer than 2 nights in our van, it was so easy to move. now with a young kiddo it makes more sense to "set up camp" a bit longer and settle in.
