HI Patrick,

I have the Ford bed extender, which is also marketed by the manufacturer, but does not have the Ford logo...I have a deep discount as a Ford retiree, but would have paid full price just to get the Ford Oval on the extender. It is a nice addition to my Ranger.

I use a Boonedox bed extender to haul a kayak in the bed.

That is a nice rack but I am more interested in being able to haul lumber than something like a kayak

Phil, I’m looking for a bed extender. Do you know where the Ford bed extender is manufactured?

George, do you know where that one is made?
I’d assume they’re all made in China.
I just remembered that I got mine from Amazon. It was a while ago. The extender was cheaper and had two vertical channels at each end of the T bar. Also has an additional section. The Amazon assembly is better for stacked stuff or in my case: kayaks. The channels also have holes at their ends for tie down.

We got this for general versatility (2 kayaks, boards and other home dyi hauling). Got with getting Decked in mind since it raises, but fits plain bed perfectly. Will see if it stores well in decked. Not actually used yet, just installed to see how it fits. Seems sturdy, just a pain with assembly, but compacts down decently. I'll post pics when I get decked installed.

Here's my American designed and made lumber rack. You can easily haul 4x8 sheets since the platform is above the wheel wells. It interlocks without fasteners, and the section over the tailgate is removable.

If I'm hauling lumber longer than 8 ft I use my utility trailer.

It looks like the one I have. I wrapped the horizontal with a crossbar foam protector and the verticals with pipe foam insulators.

Here is our extender with the Decked system. It falls a bout 1-2 inches short. I may try making some additional holes for the pins to raise little, but would work for kayaks and most other things fine as is.
