I'd like to install a hood protector... but truly don't like the design / shape of any of them other than the AVS Aeroskin II.

Question for you guys that have the Aeroskin 2, do they do a good job of deflecting bugs up over the top of the truck?

I'm also wondering if the paint will end up damaged under the protector. You know it'll get filthy under there and with the tape on each edge there is no way to clean under it?

Pictures of it installed on a 2019 Ranger would be great also. I'm thinking it would blend in pretty good on a Ranger that is Magnetic in color.

Any help is sincerely appreciated,

Following this as I also am looking at this deflector for my Magnetic. I was actually going to order it and the Dealer Parts guy talked me out of it and said I should go with the plain Aeroskin. His opinion was a looks based one only. I ordered the standard one understanding it was smaller and would just offer protection and no deflection with the agreement that I could return it....as long as it wasnt installed of course. Its so hard trying to envision what these would look like on the truck.

I don't think it would deflect bugs/rocks any differently than the hood surface as it's the same shape. If it's paint protection that's desired, then it would work but still leaves the rest of the front end unprotected. That said, clear Lamin-x over the entire front end would do the best job.

I installed the AVS II bug deflector on Sunday so can't comment on how much it deflects as it is idle for a few days while I go on a ski trip in the Outback. Here is how it looks on a Magnetic

Thanks for posting this and have fun on your trip.

The color looks good on the magnetic.

Things that bug me (no pun intended): The way these deflectors hang out on the ends, and how they mask the front profile of the hood bulges.

That being said... sometimes it takes me a while to "settle in" on new stuff. I'll save the photo and ponder it a bit.

Thanks again Idaho. Your truck looks great by the way. :like:

Cool... that little raised aero flap duck tail in the center is probably just enough to send airborne insects up over the cab...

Thanks again.
