I priced them both in November of last year. The equivalent F-150 would have been eight grand higher with the available discounts.
To be honest with you, I did not even bother.
Another F series is out of the question, too large for urban Honolulu.

They discount the F150 deeper so though the msrp may be higher my stealership contact told me he could get me one for less...that was his initial angle when he say me pull in with my Ram 1500 [sales people make a lot of assumptions]. I told him I get it but not needing a full size any more. [That part of the sales dance ended]
I understand that discounts from time to time will change the street price. However, in all the reviews they would say you could get a full size for only little more then the Ranger. They should be comparing MRSP to MRSP - that was reason I checked. I test drove the F150 first and it was nice - barcalounger front seat and football field backseat area (my 10 year old loved it) but it was so big that I really never persuaded the F150 went straight to the Ranger.

Our Explorer Platinum has those two features and they're really nice. I live in a part of Georgia that gets hotter than blue blazes in the summer, but also has a few really cold days in the winter.
All parts of GA get hotter then blue blazes in Summer but Monday there was no other place to be - can't be our Indian summers here - former Michigandar where the sun sets in October and rises in May .

I would love a heated steering wheel and cooled seats. I wish I never had the rental mustang that had those seats then I wouldn't know what I was missing
that's what I miss from my cadilacs

having just bought my ranger, here were 2 of the trucks I looked at...but I was ranger all the way. Last 3 trucks were a ram, f150, and silverado. All had some great things, all were big. With new F150s hitting the lots they are making deals. Both were courtesy vehicles. 9k seems about right. I traded my f150 in....I was going midsize one way or another.

Hi Dave,

That was necessary on my Lincoln Nautius when I purchased it. Very useful for an old fart's comfort!

Just went through the build configurator and spec’ed a 2021 F-150 similar to my Ranger and the sticker difference was about $13k.

When I was shopping trucks I was between my Ranger (Crew Cab, XLT/302A, FX4, Tow Package) and a CPO 2017 F-150 with 46k on it (S-crew, XLT/302A, 3.5/4x4, Sport, Max Towing). The F-150 was priced $6k more than my final out the door for my Ranger and the dealer wouldn’t move on price at all. Between the extra purchase cost, size, extra insurance, and the one dealer being . . . unpleasant, my decision was made for me.

There are only two things that I wish were available on the Ranger: Heated steering wheel and cooled seats.
And memory seats!! Can't believe in 2020 Lariat no Mem seats.. wtf. My wife drives my Ranger all the time and changes seat! :curse:

I'm at work doing nothing so I built a F-150 with X plan pricing, just like how I built my Ranger.

Not including the incentives/discounts, the F150 was around 9K more expensive, it wouldn't be what I wanted and it wouldn't even fit in my garage, lol.

An F-150 XL SuperCab w/STX package, and the other options I put on my Ranger is 8600 more. Dayum......I could have gotten a fully loaded Ranger Lariat 2wd SuperCrew for that price.
