I know people here have unstalled this set up. Im curious about the amount needed to lift and what tire sizes people are running on their set up. Also about the axel and extended tie rods. I think the smart way is to purchase the tie rods from APG? Id like to do the kit before the ADV front fenders and rear bedside to prevent the awkward stage of wheels being tucked in lol. Any help would be appreciated thanks!
My set of last month... some other mods have been made (headlights and ditch lights).

are those the fiberwerks? and how was putting the bedsides in? I have my fiberglass already but like I said I refuse to put them on until the Baja kit. Especially because they are 4.5" on each side so it would look ridiculous haha. I think you have the 3" bulge right?

You are correct, these are the 3” wide fiberwerx. I had them installed by fiberwerx before I installed my Bajakits.

As for the axles. I took out my axle and took them to ORW to have them install the extended shaft on stock joints. I then installed the rest of the kit myself, upper/lower arms, axles, steering extension, break lines and shocks.

The hardest part was the break lines because they’re easy to remove but a pain to get back on.

And no i wouldn’t leave my truck looking all goofy. Oh and tires, I’m running 33”. 255/80/17. No rubbing issues. I am running bds crash bars in the front and rear.

Well I just sold my truck but I can always help out. I've tore down and installed the front end plenty of times when designing and taking measurements for my senior design project of a front long travel kit but I used the bajakits daily.

I believe the front I had it set at either 3" or 3.5" higher over stock but I used longer springs so that I wouldn't have a ton of preload.

Also, I had 33's when I installed the kit and fiberglass, which looked tiny once the glass was on. 35's fit perfect but I always wanted 37's which fit but I think you would need a tube bumper, even with the bumper you have 35's might rub it when turning under compression.

I initially used the stock tie rods with the spacer but the spacer broke off when I tried uninstalling it for the SVC tie rods so I just ordered the apg tie rods for $800 and installed those. I had a rwd so no axles.

If I can help with anything lmk.

Thanks.

Loved the truck, just building a house and don't use it so I'll buy a raptor in a couple of years. I'll always have a place for it in heart.

I have some threads to help the long travel enthusiast.

I went through your whole build and really loved your set up. I initially wanted to buy the raptor ranger but the wait was ridiculous was opted out to buy the 5th gen ranger and build it from the ground up. Really loving doing the work myself and have grown to learn more as I go.
I’m curious to know what your offset was when you added the Bajakit.
I have a -12 offset with my blackrhinos which already bring the wheels about half an inch outside the fenders with rtr flares. Since I’ll be adding the bajakit when the weather gets warm enough (higher than 30 degrees ?) I know I’ll have an extra 3” added to the 1/2 inch outside the fenders and it’s going to be poking like crazy ?
Im almost thinking of buying new wheels and then getting 34-35” tires before the adv fenders and bedsides installed. It’s definitely a journey but loving it every sec of the way!
