First post here. I ordered my ARE CX Classic February 9. Was told 12-15 weeks. In 2 days marks 15 weeks, no updates or anything. Im getting antsy, anyone in the same boat? Either ARE or Leer? These setbacks are wild.

Wow Reed, that really is a long time to wait. I hope you hear from them soon and it isn’t much longer. ? My CX Classic has served me well for about 2-1/2 years now - no issues, great fit and finish. Good Luck!

Around here, Oregon, both ARE Dealers said 4-4.5 months. Leer said 2-3. I ordered 2 Leer canopies; one came in7 weeks, the other in 3-4. This was in November of last year and March of this year.

Are you buying factory direct or through a dealer?

I know besides production delays these days, always waiting for that one darn part, etc. ... could be shipping delays. We've been fortunate, as a Jeraco fiberglass dealer, our orders have been completed in 2 - 3 weeks. But we pick up, so that helps.

It's no fiberglass cap but just going to toss this idea out there. We do have RSI SmartCaps in stock for the 6ft bed Rangers in both the EVO Sport and EVO Adventure. No wait at all.

I ordered an ARE MX cap on April 30th. I called him the other day and he said that it should be delivered the first or second week of August. I ordered my new Ranger in March and I got an email in June that said it was scheduled to be built the week of August 22nd.

don't do it. they are cool but they are built like they are the least expensive wedge camper on the market. less than 10 months in and the paint was peeling

@myothercarizahearse i appreciate the heads up / warning as I think that’s a huge benefit from a community like this. With that in mind I have been following GFC since the start and their concept really fits my needs over anything else in the space.

I did decide to hold off back in V1 days as there were some design / fitment issues I didn’t want to deal with. I really like V2 but wanted to give them a year to work out the kinks which I think they have for the most part.

Very few things in the aftermarket space are perfect or won’t require maintenance over time. Granted it sucks you are seeing paint peel in under a year of ownership. From what I have seen on the GFC forums is that they are pretty aggressive about addressing issues. Hopefully you can reach out and get yours replaced. If not pester wileydavis onninstagram ?

I don’t want to pull a big travel trailersI don’t want to deal with a smaller tear drop on trails. The integrated RTT that allows me to enter via the bed (privacy), the open side panels to access the bed, lightweight, and all while looking more like a work truck over a overlander.

Sure it’s a bit pricey but about the same as a RSi topper with some other brand RTT. Heck most basic toppers are all 1500 plus and that normally doesn’t include side access panels.

I happened to go into a local ARE dealer today to get an ARE catalog.
See-Mor Truck Caps and Trailers in Staunton, Va. Talked to mgr and she related that per ARE, there's a 20-22 week down time for ordered caps. Few months ago the delay was due to fiberglass and resin shortage, which is still a problem, but now, in addition, there's a shortage of quality paints, especially those to match newer truck colors.
On a positive note, if anyone is looking for an ARE Z /Z2 for a short bed Ranger (Crew Cab) in Iconic Silver, she has one that was special ordered but customer changed his mind to a different style.
She has it at a discount, but wouldn't say how much off...but that style she says goes for around $3400.00.
Had it been for a Super Cab, I probably would have snatched it up for my Iconic Silver Scab
