Ford had a policy, No physical violence or you were dismissed if it came to blow to blow. So were in the middle of a 4x4 hub lock panic shut down of the Explorer and Ranger plants... Heat is on as the cost per shut down line is $1,00,000 an hour. So Farsen G (Iraq) and Amar K. (Iran) were the two design engineers involved. The Iran/Iraq war was raging. Amar attacked Farsen...first was Tie pulling and yelling but then Amar landed a blow to poor frail Farsen's jaw... Two hours later, under Ford Security, Amar was out the door to never to return...fired right then and there. No physical violence allowed. The Hub lock fiasco is detailed in the thread of my back stories, which this is a back story tool....

I was just outside cleaning snow off my derelict project vehicles and the same thought popped into my head.

I have a small collection of those. I sold a running car the other day and realized I still have 12 and it's an even split of finished/projects.

I looked through the list but I couldn't find the hub lock story.

I'm guessing this was dealing with the notorious PVH system?

I'd like to read how that was released into the wild.

Hi Dennis,

It was actually as I now recall part of the wheel retention issue where we had two different wheel studs grades and three different grad of lug nuts. On a 4x4 at that time the hublock was trapped between the brake rotor and the wheel by design...
