Here are some images of the install. Straightforward module, pricey, yes, but oh so clean. Put it in drive and it goes on for a few seconds. Hold the “power button” for the radio for 7 seconds to turn it on constantly. Any RCA camera will do. I got mine on Amazon. Love it!

SYNC 3 interface module:
Camera Source. Allows use of the factory 8” SYNC 3 screen.

Camera (Amazon.com): NATIKA Backup/Front View... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H852D49?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Tell us more about the install.....difficulty?? Wiring into Sync, software mods needed?? The whole story. What about the dash disassembly??

Install straightforward. Module is plug and play. You have to run cable from camera to rear of radio. Ran it through driver side wire cluster grommet to the left of brake pedal on firewall. Tons of videos on taking dash apart on YouTube. 5 minutes to peel the dash apart. You need hot, ground, and acc. Connections. Caught those behind the radio. Tons of extra camera cable because it’s sold as a rear camera so I had to wrap it up and tuck it behind the LCD screen.

2 hour install, which could be cut in half if you get a camera that comes on double sided tape instead of a threaded screw.

I guess having to position the camera back in the grill is the reason the lower part of the display is the grill. I wonder how much further out you could get it? It looks very clean, I'd be curious what field of vision it provides - peripheral + how close to the bumper.

This particular camera, not much. It’s as far forward as I can get it without it sticking out or mounting it vertically which would make it look like the truck had a zit. I agree, it is more of the grille than I had hoped for, but it’s good enough to see any tree stumps or rocks approaching. And, it’s not horribly more visible than the rear bumper is. Perhaps, figuring out a vertical install location to put it in front of the truck, but not many places that that works.

Totally worth it! Climbing over terrain that you can’t see over the peak. This thing is your eyes right in front of you, which is huge for how big our face is.

Nice, kinda like one of these up front and way down low, hanging from the bottom of the front bumper for crawling

Can you post which wires were power, acc, ground you tapped to?

I've had it installed for about a year and it has withstood all types of weather, rain, snow, and the Florida heat.

Likely to lose it getting ripped off. I thought about it too, but it’s just too low below the bumper.
What would you say about this spot?
