See, I told you it was a bonus item...lol!
I'd be sure to ask them for the key, or where they left it on the truck.
Ha, you did!

Good idea. I'm sure it's in the glove box but I'll ask them to confirm.

I sure would, hell maybe the Ranger "truck fairy" left you some $$$ in there too!

Thanks, Phil! I think you're correct. I searched the product number you posted above and that seems to match. I'm going to have the dealership install it correctly tomorrow.

Thanks again!
Hi Chappy,

If the installation used the provided attachment bolt with the puzzle lock pattern, you will need the key to uninstall the bolt. Hopefully the person installing this threw the hex puzzle lock tool in the glove box...otherwise if not available, it can be ordered from McGard for about $20. If they used the carryover hex head bolt then no problem. I think I have the McGard part number if you need it...

Thanks, Phil. found the key in my glove box this morning, so I'm good.

An update: I took my truck to the dealership today. They got the lock installed correctly, but there was a chip in the paint where the lock tucked out from under the tailgate. Now I've got to make an appointment to take it back in one more time for them to fix that. Should be all good after that.

Thanks to everyone who chimed in to help!

I got my truck back 2 days ago, and it looks great. They did a good job with the paint, however I noticed today that my back up camera doesn't work. All I have is a blue screen.

Like many of you, my city is under lockdown due to Covid-19 so I only noticed today. Looks like I'm headed back to the dealership again.

Before you go back, make sure they plugged it back in. They probably removed the tailgate to paint.

Great news! It was indeed unplugged. 30 seconds and a dirty back side later and the camera's working again.

Thanks!

That is great news. I'd call the dealer and let them know. First they can't install the tailgate lock correctly, so much so they have to paint the tailgate, then they can't plug it in? Bunch of winners there...

Edit:Corrected a spelling mistake
