Sadly all government agencies are going woke. EEO was bad enough but now everyone has to learn about genders and not to offend anyone.

Yeah it’s everywhere, I can admit it’s just as bad if not worse in the non military sector. Unfortunately it’s not just one agency or business, it’s most of them.

I was always under the belief that "stars forward" is the military standard on uniforms and equipment and hence why it "looks backwards" on airplanes, uniforms, etc.

I was generally grouping ALL gov agencies to include military. At least in my mind I was. I should typed that better.

When I was in the military it was pre-woke. The gov agency I just retired from made a lot of changes from when I started to when I retired. Non-stop classes (online & in person) about EEO etc. You couldn't write up an employee for being a fuck up because now you're the bad guy. To make it worse, it's very difficult, but not impossible, to fire gov employees.

The "backward" looking stars forward flag is a relatively new concept. Military did not always have flags on uniforms. The new regs that came in 2003 specified the stars forward flags to be worn. It is meant to symbolize the flag moving forward in the wind.

No, I never ignore anyone. There are people out there who actually are intelligent and make sense.
You never know when you might run across one, so I listen to everyone and what they have to say.
The only people I do ignore are politicians and lawyers who advertise on the backs of bus benches !!! Both are out only for themselves and couldn't care a twit about the rest of us.

I was not trying to correct you in any way and I apologize if it came across that way.

US flags regs are pretty clear on flying a flag on a vehicle but nothing about a decal except on the the sides of vehicles. I was curious myself so that's why I looked and I can see the American Legions POV.

I retired on 30 Dec 22 as a Dept of Navy Electrical Engineer and most of my required annual training became forced socialist indoctrination. The training was required by Civilian & Uniformed Personnel and interesting enough the person at fault in the trainings 90% of the time an Old White Male. I was talked to about my use of Sir & Ma'am and my pronoun use. I replied, " my degree is in engineering not English " and to use their own words on them I followed with " I feel you're being insensitive to the way I was raised and feel threatened ". The talking too ended quickly. :^)

I got a tongue-lashing once from an SJW who claimed that I had rear-ended her while parallel parking; I hadn't, and even if I had, her POS was so beat-up that it would have been impossible to identify a new dent. Anyway, she starts going off on her tirade, and I let her bitch until she got to her ultimate insult, that I had "white, male privilege". I responded "Nice, two counts of discrimination."; she sputtered "I didn't discriminate!", to which I replied " 'White, male privilege'; that's racial discrimination, and gender discrimination." The look on her face as she came tumbling off of her high-horse was priceless; it was all that I could do not to burst out laughing as I left her, dumbfounded as to her lack of purity.

When butthurt employees questioned me for trying to counsel them by saying such things are "are you singling me out?" or "is it because of my race?". I usually replied with something like "no, I'm an equal opportunity asshole, I treat everyone the same". It helped when other employees were there that were not in trouble and nodding their head to that. Mr/Ms butthurt usually glared at me then stomped off like a like kid.
