I recently installed the Alpharex LUXX LED headlights on my 2021 ford ranger. Things were fine for about a day, and now I get an error saying “Charging system service now”. Unsure if I installed it incorrectly or if there is some bigger issue at hand. The error comes on when I get on the interstate, on city roads I never get the error. Any suggestions or tips are appropriated.
Thanks

That's an interesting code. I would check your install around the battery, and then call the company.

Definitely make sure you didnt do anything wrong by the battery. If not go to the dealer and have them look at it.

Does anyone know if the black wire on the DLR harness goes to ground or the negative terminal on the battery? There are no instructions (that I have found) and I’ve seen both done on other vehicles.
Thanks

You should never wire anything directly to the negative battery terminal, always use a point on the frame, there are plenty of them. Connecting directly to the battery bypasses the BMS and can cause issues.

@HarryManback is correct about the wiring but I will also state that I but the black wire strait on the negative terminal since I could not get it to the side chassis ground. Did i have an issue? No. Will you? Wont know until you do it but I suspect not.

I have the negative on the chassis, and it worked for about a day, now the daytime lamp does not work on the driver side headlight. Any thoughts?
