Reading into these forums i am now aware that my XLT isn’t equipped with ambient interior lighting..
I’m looking for an easy and adaptable solution for adding on!
I purchased an LED set on amazon (link to follow) after researching and chose this particular one for a few reasons :
-USB powered so i can hide all of the wiring in the crew cabin without infiltrating the 12v cigarette lighters that would seem to be obtrusive and too visible
-USB appears to power off with the battery so it shouldn’t need to be unplugged to avoid draining battery or leaving lights on (can someone confirm this?)
I’ll take pics of the install
I’m looking to tuck the switch underneath the front space on center console so completely invisible but easy access ,
I’m hoping one click of a button to turn on and off for a $16 investment
If anyone knows another way to add ambient lighting that wouldn’t set me back too many doll hairs or require too much splicing and hard-wiring and provide optimal control to only come on at night without a switch i would love to learn more!
I don’t plan on using the remote and would never consider syncing music ever, and would only use the app to dim but seems like a cool feature for the money spent ..
Not looking to trick it out , just provide some lighting and driving experience
