So here is an update on the front with paint and I swapped out the bumper.

I did 0% of work to the fiber glass I just drilled holes and bolted it on where it looked the best.

The right side has a medium size gap between it and the door but I'll probably never mess with it.

I started to drill out the spot welds on the back but my new dewalt drill stopped working so I'll give it another go when I have time.

I started with the rears. When i saw Robby887 do it it looked easy ?. This is not a plug and play kind of deal i have to put in a lot of time into it. I completely removed the edges where the tailgate sides meet the bedsides because they were not allowing the tailgate to fully close no matter how much i sanded inside and tried moving them. I tried sanding them to a point where they became really thin and would break off, so i decided to slice them off ( this did not mess up the structure or make it flimsy) . I also sanded some areas where the tail lamp sits because the gaps were different. i will use 3m panel bonder and rivets for final mounting.
Edit the right side is mostly done it sits where i feel like is right. The left side still needs alot of grinding and cutting

Wow man it looks great! I drilled out all of the spot welds this weekend that I could get to.

When it came to the bed removal I got stuck.

I unplugged the tailgate, unbolted the 6 screw holding the bed, and popped the gas housing box so it was loose and the tube running from the gas tank was not inside it.

When my brothers helped me lift the bed there was still something holding onto the bed but I'm not sure what it was. I'll throw a strap over the structure of my carport and ratchet the bed up and see what it is. Maybe we just weren't strong enough.

I might have to cut the inside where it meets the tailgate too but I haven't gotten there yet.

Edit: I also took out the taillights and unplugged them lol

I had the same thing it turned out to be the wire harness attached to bottom of the bed

Ahh gotcha!!

Also, the stock bedside wraps around the bed where it meets up against the tailgate at the top and bottom. By removing the spot welds, the entire bedside comes off, including this area. A point of interest that comes to my mind is if you cut the bedsides straight off and didn't remove the parts in this area, then that would add to the thickness next to the tailgate.

If the way I explained it sucks I can go outside and take pictures.

I drilled out every spot weld that held the bedside i didn't leave any extra metal on there. The bottom part where it wraps has a decent gap but the top corners were impossible they were overlapping 5-6mm. So i started to sand them down little by little i got to a point where they were really thin and would just break off eventually so i cut them off around the line. Also compare the slim oem bedside to the bulky fiberglass layers thats where the problem comes from

Man you did it nicely. The fiberglass is thicker I get that. When you took off the bedside did the wheel well liner come with it or did you remove it prior to removing the bedside?

Thanks! I removed the liner first
For the life of me I couldn't get these 4, (pins, bolts, rivets) idk what they are, out of each wheel well. There's 2 in front of the rear wheel and 2 behind the rear wheel.
I tried putting a flathead to it and even pliers. Maybe I oughta put some more beans into it.

I drilled one out and smashed it with a chisel but it took way to long so i used a box cutter and just cut around them
Edit but i did that because i wasnt going to use factory wells

Yep. The ADV fiberglass definitely makes the truck look more beastly. I'm getting my LT kit installed Friday, what's your wheel/tire setup I am more interested in the rear are you running adapters?

Im not going to go with the apg suspension. I will do King 2.5 Coil overs with upper arms and use factory lower and factory axles. I will run 35 12.5 17 Yokohama Geolander M/T G003 on a beadlocked 17 wheel with -38 offset if that wont be enough poke i will use a spacer
