Alright guys so I hope this helps to list each thing connected to the bed.
The process of removing the bedsides for me started with leaving the bed in the truck and removing all of the spot welds I could get to especially on top after removing the 2 black plastic pieces, then with only spot welds along the back of the bed in between the cab it was time to remove the bed.
The process to remove the bed is as follows:
The process of removing the bedsides for me started with leaving the bed in the truck and removing all of the spot welds I could get to especially on top after removing the 2 black plastic pieces, then with only spot welds along the back of the bed in between the cab it was time to remove the bed.
The process to remove the bed is as follows:
- Unbolt 6 (or 4) bolts holding bumper and unconnect the harness that's connected to it.
- (Optional) Remove the tailgate
- 2x Unbolt 2 screws holding each taillight and pull harness out of taillight. (This was easier for me instead of disconnecting the taillight further down the connection)
- Unbolt 6 bolts holding the bed
- Tape around the gas assembly housing and use a flat head around the edge and under the rubber to pop it out (I did it at the bottom right). It will hang so pull the rubber off of the main tube where you pump gas. There is a little tube connected to the housing at the bottom so just slightly pull that out.
- With the gas assembly housing removed you can stick a little 5/16 wrench into here to remove a bolt that is connecting a bracket that holds all of the gas lines to the bed.
- Now the only thing holding onto the bed are 4 "bolts" per side in the wheel well. I used my spot weld cutter right in the middle all the way through each to get the wheel well liner free. (And remove all plastic screws with a phillips in the wheel well)
- Check to make sure no wired are connected to bed
- You can remove the bed and remove the last spot welds
