Adding options after build date has been assigned

I just got my VIN and a schedule date for 03/25/2019 Thursday past. Has anyone added any options to there order at this stage?

You can't change an order after a VIN has been issued.

That's not entirely correct. There is a period of time that changes can be made so long as things haven't progressed too far, even after a VIN has been assigned. You'll have to check in with your dealer and have them see if it is still possible to make a change. Sometimes they'll have to submit it and see if it takes or not.

And to add, the changes would have to be inconsequential to the main build - mud flaps, keypad, maybe running boards, etc. Changes such as cab style, FX4 or drive train would require a new order to be entered (from personal experience).

My Dealer said he thinks he got it in but not sure. I am trying to get the technology package added to my order. He said he will let me know if we are successful.

Must be a tight window. 2 days after getting a VIN assigned I tried to add the optional full sized spare to a 2011 Escape that the wife ordered. Couldn't do it.

I checked the order tracker and it shows my desired add on option. I guess I got lucky with this one.
