Added Remote start with Ford Perimeter Plus

After having remote start on my mustang I was really missing it in the ranger. There was a lot of confusion at my local dealers on what is required for remote start on the ranger. So, did my own research and ordered Vehicle Security System - Ford Perimeter Plus (Part No: KN1Z-19A361-A) this adds remote start and shock sensor. Works great can remote start while still in the building.

Use your factory key fobs to arm and disarm, helps provide contents protection too

• When there’s sufficient impact to the glass or a body panel, the 2-stage shock sensor determines whether to issue a warning chirp or full alarm
• When activated by your Ford Dealer, the Basic Remote Start System is also included; start your vehicle from up to 300’ away (lock-unlock-lock)

Only need separate key fobs and long range antenna if you want to increase remote start range.

Recommend adding installation when ordering from https://accessories.ford.com/electronics/vehicle-security/electronic-module-12157.html
It will end up being cheaper than letting the dealer service center assign labor cost.

Where i work has strict no cell phones in the building policy. Now i can start my truck on my way out the door and have AC or heat when i get into the truck.
