The premise of the system is to alert you first if there is enough time and if you fail to make corrections it will do what it can to midigate the crash.
I can say both the lane keeping and collision avoidance is more advanced than the one in my 2015 F150. Lane keeping in the Ranger is nearly perfect IMO. I have my sensitivity set to high and it will actually make a a complete 20-30 degree turn on a clearly marked highway as well as keep the truck within the lines (without bouncing between lines) with zero input from me. Although it does know when your hands are not on the wheel and will alert you within 15-20 seconds.
I think it’s a great system and can save lives on both your end and someone else’s.
