I always thought a truck was for work. Ford proved me wrong with the Ranger. Now they changed their minds - again.

I work construction. One thing that is always a premium on job sites is power. Man hours are eaten up moving light towers (used during day because they have a generator also) plus rental of light towers or generators. Depending on where job is you have to worry about spill containment under them and deal with providing fuel. Run out of fuel or have a mechanical issue you have at least two guys twiddling their thumbs at a billed out rate of at least $225 an hour between them. So truck is a big battery and inverter. You pull up and go to work. I completely understand fords philosophy of concentrating on work trucks. You have any idea how many white f-150,250 and 350 trucks in xl trim are made each year? The fluffy “civilian” for a better term trim levels will come. Work trucks are Fords bread and butter.
