285/70 17 KO2

First time post, but don’t want to pass up this deal. 285 70/17 KO2’s, 5 for $500. I am a little ignorant to what these #s really mean.
I have stock rims on my 2020 STX. My question really is, does anyone know if a 2.5 level kit would be sufficient? Or is it a little more extensive?
I plan on leveling the truck and not opposed to some minor suspension mods. Hoping this group has some advice

Short answer probably more extensive than just mounting the tire. Look below at related threads or in the tire/brake/wheel sub forum. Alot to consider. There are also several types of 285/70/17 kos. The E type are heavy mothers. They are 33 inch tires or almost 33 inch.

I had originally wanted to do these tires this size but ended up with 265/70/17 tires because I did not want to modify my crashbars, buy aftermarket rims, correct my speedo,use spacers or modify my wheel wells not the mention gas milage which a 33 inch tire over 50lbs will have a big impact.

But when my current tires wear out I may say f*** it and cut away and buy 35x12.5x17?

Most have been able to mount thatnsize tire with either a leveling kit or lift kit(and yes there is a difference). My suggestion to you is to do a search throughout the forums as there is plenty of info on this

500 for 5 ko2 in good shape is a smokin deal. mine were 230 - 250 ish per tire.

Thanks for the honest input Todd. Every little bit helps. Zero, that’s what I’m saying! How can you pass that up? That’s cheaper than replacing my stocks.

So Frenchy, I did order a 3in front level and will be ordering a rear 1inch block. So forgive my ignorance, is the difference between the level and lift just the shocks and coils?
I would like to avoid any spacers but these forums, that I am all of a sudden able to find, are kind of contradictory. I am leaning towards not needing since I don’t really off road and am mostly highway miles. Maybe some state parks but nothing crazy yet.

A lift kit lifts the entire vehicle. It can inclused spacers, shocks, coils and/or leafs. A leveling kit will do just that. Level the vehicle simply by raising the front only. It may include rear shocks but rear shocks do not lift the rear.

Coilovers are way better than spacers. I have 1" Eibach blocks in the rear with Eibach 2.0 pros. The blocks do give me the slight rake and stance I wanted but I will at somepoint be getting multi leaf springs as they better suited for off road and ride better than or mono leafs.
