Hello all,
After recently installing a roof top tent, it completely covers the satellite antenna, and reception is sporadic at best!

I reviewed the replacement antenna options available at Amazon, they all seem to have the same female type, of looks to be just a push in right angle connector. It would appear that there is just the one style available.

Is this the correct connector for the 2020 Lariat Ranger radio head, with upgraded sound system ?

Has anyone replaced their satellite antennas?

Thanks,
Drew

For Ref; Here is a pic of the antenna base

2 connectors - both coax

Depending on height of the roof tent, you may be able to find a longer (whip) style antenna and have it (bent) under and fold back or sideways to extend it for better reception.
The antenna (stick/mast) just unscrews from the base.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm hoping to place a new antenna on top of roof, closer to the A pillar, and just route new coax down to the radio. And there seems to be a connector in the A pillar that we could plug into.

Has anyone seen this connector in psgr side A pillar? What does it look like?

Or would it still be better to run new coax right to the radio?

Do the antennas you are looking at have 2 connectors?
I would have to dig some but
1 connector has 2 inputs Radio / Satellite
1 connector has 2 inputs Power / Ground
The lower side of the Pas A Pillar is the connection point to the harness run on the headliner - 2 connections, one of them may be a single connector power feed at that point, then at the rear connections (headliner) x 2 the ground is ran to body ground for the antenna.
It’s best to pull the Pillar Cover and look at what they look like.
Now possible solutions would be , hit a salvage yard - find a headliner and remove the antenna cable run from it along with the antenna, then just leave OE antenna in place - sealed for water and then remount salvage yard antenna and cable run to your new location tapping into the pass A Pillar connections

Antenna Cable - Headliner Run
The (Male) Ends connect at the (A-Pillar)
The (Female) Ends run back to the (Antenna)

Now you may be able to remove the attach points and reroute the cable, but it would be easier to just push a new cable up there and reroute the new one

EDIT: 1/19/25

Blue Connector - Coax x2
AM/FM - Direct run to the ACM
Satellite - Runs to a Splitter - Then (ACM) & (APIM)

Black Connector- Coax x2
Antenna Power Feed - From ACM
The wiring diagram does not show a ground wire in the run, and the only physical wire I see is on the antenna wire connector, so I am assuming the Antenna Base is the Ground Point

Blue Connector - Coax x2
Antenna Power- Direct Run From ACM
AM/FM - Direct Run from ACM
Note: Grd is from (Body Grd) (Mounting) of the Antenna

Black Connector: Coax X1
Runs to the (Satellite Antenna) Splitter

Coax: Cable Run - Across the Headliner - Routes back to the Rear Cab Wall, then picks up another harness run on the back wall that routes up to the splitter and roof antenna

I am going to post this, and it will take someone with a (Real Life) actual pic of this location
as none of the manuals show connectors to match the actual (Antenna).
So, it is confusing at this point - It shows the splitter (yes) and only that splitter feeding the antenna.

So, my assumption here is that the (single) connector running off the diagram - Is actually running to the Antenna.
So, something is not correct here. (FYI)
Note: There are no Connector Numbers Listed at this point
