2020 Ranger Inventory

This is not an accurate indicator of overstocked inventory. The article indicates it did not include any 2020 vehicles in dealer lots that had few 2021 models to offer. NOTE: Interesting...if the dealer had few 2021 models in inventory, their sales would collapse if they had no 2020 models. Their analysis should have been just the opposite....only dealers that had large 2021 inventory. Poor analysis by iSee Cars.com. Below is from the end of the iSeeCars.com original post:

Methodology

iSeeCars.com analyzed over 700,000 new cars listed for sale as of January 29, 2021. The share of each model from the 2020 model year was used to rank them. Heavy-duty trucks, lower-volume models, and cars that did not have a large amount of 2021 inventory available were excluded from further analysis.

All I know is the dealer I bought my truck from sent me a letter saying my vehicle is in high demand. My wife gave me a sideways look when I told her and asked if I was considering it. I told her that's great if they can do an even trade for a brand new one otherwise I'm driving it 'till its dead.

In the PNW there are a few dealers that have a lot of inventory and a few that have little to none.
My local dealer had a dozen or so. Most 2020s but they had 2 or 3 2021s..
They had a lot of little incentives that added up to decent discounts.. about $4k in my case..
Problem is they didnt have the truck i wanted.
A dealer 300 miles away had 38 rangers in stock with great prices.. they tried a trade and that dealer quit talking to them..

My dealer found the truck i wanted minus a few accessories and brought it in and then ordered all the missing parts.. to match the other truck.. they then matched that dealers price even though it wasn't that truck..

Then they threw in the linex bedliner too..

My dealer was having a record month and there was a waiting line for fiance.. luckily ours was a cash deal..

They tried to sell me an extended warranty.. yea nope.. not paying for 3 years of warranty that ford already covers..
They also tried the maintenance package.. which isn't very good anymore.. 50% oil changes.. currently an oil change costs $48 out the door..

Most of the vehicles being sold were f150s and super duties...
