I've been using the procal tuner on my ranger, and recently put the stock tuning back on the truck due to going to the dealer for service.
So I went to put the performance tuning back on the truck, and now I got a message on the tuner that reads "cannot fund ecu!".
Now, the truck will not start, or run........nada. There is a perforated line where the odometer is now as well.
So, back to the dealer it goes. ECU will have to be reflashed with the factory tuning and all that wonderful........stuff

My question is, how much is it going to cost me to have that done???

Before you take it in, I'd disconnect the battery and let it sit overnight and then try to flash the tune. It's pretty hard to brick Ford ECUs, but not impossible. The repair rate is going to depend on if it just needs the factory calibration re-flashed or the actual ECU needs to be replaced.

And put a battery charger on the battery while flashing the tune ....
Note: follow the battery charger instructions in the manual.

Unfortunately it's already back at the dealer. Didn't think about disconnecting the battery until after the fact (minor brain fart)

I've called ford performance about it, and they were saying it will need to go to the dealer to have that done. Dealer says the same thing.
