I installed a OPT7 tailgate light bar on the truck and everything works fine except the on board computer thinks I have a trailer hooked up because I plugged into the 4pin connector. I'm constantly having to clear the messages on the vehicle which is a pain in the rear....Also, I lose the rear sensors. Is there a way to override this? The people that make the light bar say I might have to hardwire them in before the 4pin plug...which doesn't make much sense in doing. Thx

I really liked the OPT7 light bar on my last Ranger. From what I've read, you have to hard wire it directly to a tail light, not to the trailer connection. Something I'm just not ready to do to a new truck.

Wouldn’t hardwiring the lights into the same wire the 4pin plug is at the end of result in the exact same problems the onboard computer has now? The computer is still listening to that same line... I’m surprised the people that make the light bar told you to do that.

Or.... am I missing something?

I believe Lone is 100% correct in stating you need to figure out another way to wire the lights to come on when you wish them to.
