Have you considered leaving the seat belts and just putting a notch in your platform for the buckles? Not sure what you plan on storing on the platform but the factory belts work well for securing items that don't need a permanent install. I used the factory belts to strap in a cooler and it...

Are you following the plans one of the Tacoma guys made? He made his own GFC clone with some changes, and sells plans for it online. He has some cool vids on youtube as well. I thought about doing this, he makes it seem a lot easier than I'm sure it is.

Just to add another data point, I have a 2020 STX with the FX4 package and I have a matching spare. The wheel is not the same but the tire is a Dynapro ATM just like the other 4 in the same 265/65/17 size.
