I didn't expect to learn so much about lighting when I started this thread. Now I'm probably going to spend a lot more than I originally planned, so thanks for that!
I agree the article quoted above was a great read.
OK I may just try this method. I took a better look and I see how that could work. Can you do me a favor and tell me the length and thickness of that bracket? Is it steel or aluminum? You would think the maker would list that information but I could not find it.
This "Squash factor" had me completely baffled until I realized the mm you were referencing was the circumference of the tire not the diameter. Could you update the spreadsheet to make that easier to understand?
I guess Offroad Alliance hasn't updated their pricing yet. They also want $30 for shipping. I forgot how much they originally wanted for the bar. I'm glad they came around.
I think that would definitely work for smaller LED light pods. I don't think its enough for the larger 6" KC/Hella/Pro comp style lights though.
Really appreciate all of your suggestions!
I found this one that has a wider bar on it already, I just wasn't sure if it would support two 6" lights. The thinner LED ones would probably work. If I had a front plate I'd probably try it...
I just went out to look at the truck. I don't think those plastic tabs would work for mounting, however the same 2 bolts that SVC uses look like they are in a good spot. I might be able to just run some bar stock across the bumper there, then bolt or weld extensions directly to the bar. It...
I really like the old school look and want to run two 6" lights on the front of the truck. I have the stock bumper. I know about the SVC light bar. It was my first choice but I never got around to ordering it and now they want $300 for it.
Are there any other solutions to mount round lights on...
I originally wanted a GFC but the long lead times, and logistics of getting it since I live in Florida made it a no-go for now. So I built this. Leer topper and a TopperEZlift. So far its been working great. I built a platform in the back to sleep on and there is a ton of room for gear.
Be aware the power point in the bed isn't 110AC its a 12v cigarette style outlet. The optional 110AC outlet is on the back of the center console. You don't want a plastic bed liner anyway. Easy choice to skip.
I think even if you don't get the tow package you get a 4 pin connection. If you...
MSRP is a good goal in the current pricing climate. I never thought I'd say that. If you haven't yet, go on the Ford website and build a few trucks. For me, the STX is the sweet spot. These trucks get real expensive in the upper trim levels and don't offer anything special that is worth the...
Not to mention you can get a locker on any trim level so if budget is your primary concern you can get an XL with a locker. If you can find one....buying any vehicle right now isn't something I'd recommend unless you NEED to get one. I have an XL with STX and FX4 packages and it fit the bill...
That is one unicorn of a build!
And on the topic of seat deletes, the rear cushions are easily removable and thats 1/2 of the seat delete right there. The seatbelts are nice to have for securing cargo as well. Think twice before doing the seat delete.
So I would assume. I've made a thread about it. Everyone assumes they are the same. I've never seen definitive proof. Never seen a photo of markings, can't find any official Ford documents with specifics or anywhere to actually purchase Tremor wheels. Someone posted they were +42 offset in my...
