  1. Blown Passenger Speaker

They should fix it under warranty no questions asked, and I'd definitely let them eat the cost of it, because you're right, a brand new, $40k vehicle shouldn't have issues like that. Frustrating for sure!
  2. Nasty rattle...

I had this same rattle start up this fall once it got a little cold and I started using the defroster more. Seemed to really get buzzing when the engine was 'lugging'. I found some cheap rubber edge guard on Amazon and put a strip in front of the gauge cluster and no more rattle for me. The...
  3. Blown Passenger Speaker

I haven't had the fortune of having the speakers self-destruct (yet), but I'm looking at replacing anyways with some Kicker 6.75" 2-way speakers. I had these in my Tacoma (the Tacoma guys love this upgrade) and just put a set in my fiance's Edge Sport. I'm actually quite surprised with how much...
  4. Fuel in oil

I have access to detailed info like that as part of my job (its info you can get at a dealer too), but you can find your build date on your window sticker too I believe. I think its somewhere in the middle along the bottom edge?
  5. Fuel in oil

    April as well!! 4-27-19
  6. Fuel in oil

Well, got my oil analysis back yesterday, so thought I'd post an update. Oil analysis shows there is definitely fuel in the oil, and the oil was definitely degraded if it was reading like an 0W20 instead of a 5w30, but fortunately no signs of wear (yet). On the plus side, there is a very little...
  7. What did you do to your Ranger today?

Hit 10,000 miles today. Just in time for my fuel smell to return :frown: https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/fuel-in-oil.4803/page-5#post-82766
  8. Tractor beam engaged?

I've seen this time to time with obd2 accessory devices that can sometimes cause interruptions on the can network during startup. Could be something with that?
  9. Uncomfortable

I have an XLT with 302A package (high-trim XLT).
  10. Uncomfortable

Just finished a week long road trip from Michigan to South Dakota to visit my parents that included two ~18 hour stints on each end, for a total in vehicle time over the last week at 52.5 hours and nearly 2900 miles. This is a drive I've done 3 times a year for the last 6 years, and the Ranger...
  11. Post your off-road pics.

I know the feeling. I'm not brave enough with the new truck yet (and mostly the Dynapros) to venture into anything too deep with snow covered roads and trails, but was able to still find some interesting and infrequently traveled roads and scenery despite 15* and snow. Spotting Elk in the Black...
  12. Post your off-road pics.

I guess this falls more under the "rocky/rutted forest service road" more than off-road, but went for a short drive up Vanocker Canyon just south of Sturgis, SD. Was nice to enjoy the scenery :like:
  13. Fuel in oil

Haha agreed! Did the oil change yesterday. I'm right at 8000 miles, so right at 5000 miles on this oil. I drained 6.25 qts (what I filled at 3k miles) and the oil looks like you'd expect with the mileage on it. I collected a mid-stream sample, and have a blackstone kit on order, so we'll see...
  14. Fuel in oil

It smelled a little like gas, but not necessarily excessively so? I also smelled the oil on my father's EcoBoost F150 (3.5L) and my moms 2.0L Escape, and they more or less smelled the same. I'm going to change the oil tomorrow (it's due anyways) and collect a sample for analysis, so we shall...
  15. Fuel in oil

So I just completed a 1200 mile drive from Michigan to South Dakota. I noticed towards the end of the trek, about 1100 miles/17hours in, a strong fuel/oil smell. This last stretch, the truck was working pretty hard to maintain 80mph against a 30mph headwind on the rolling plains of SoDak. I...
  16. What did you do to your Ranger today?

Drove it 1200 miles from Michigan to SoDak  Didn't beat me up nearly as bad as my Tacoma would, so color me impressed
  17. OEM 2019+ Ranger Tailgate Damper Part# VKB3Z-99406A10-A by DeeZee DZ43206

Ordered 10-30 from Village Ford in Dearborn, MI and finally picked it up yesterday. Paid $36.90, which wan't too bad. Install was fairly straight forward, though I did have a hard time keeping the bracket on the bed from rotating when I was tightening the bolt, but I think I got it snugged up...
  18. Options for flexible mud flaps?

I installed the Ford flaps awhile ago. Paid $130 for the entire set (and got an extra set of rears for free :sunglasses:). I like the Ford branding, they fit well, and install was pretty easy. I did have to remove the rear wheels to make install easier, but that wasn't an issue. So far they seem...
  19. tonneau covers American or Gator?

I posted in the thread linked below a while ago. I have the Gator SFX Tri-Fold cover that I installed back in June. Overall it's been a pretty good cover, especially considering the price. I was able to install it with the Ford factory drop-in bed liner with a little bit of creativity to seal...
  20. Show me your leveled trucks on OEM wheels!

There's a thread in the suspension section that has some more activity: https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/show-me-your-leveled-trucks-on-oem-wheels.4332/
