  1. Which is the best catch can

I installed the Ford unit since it connects directly and was much easier than the aftermarket units. My opinion is that the kind of sludge that it removes is not good for the valves, and dual injection systems would not have been created if there were no problems. Time will tell but I would...
  2. Just migrated to a 2019 Lariat FX4 with sketchy low miles from a 2017 Edge Sport

I did check on the extended warranty on my 19 and if it is 41 months past build date you can't get the Ford though Granger.
  3. Anyone NOT have problems with the Ranger?

2019 Lariat with 27k miles, only issue was a bad battery. Replaced and fixed charging with Forscan, love my truck.
  4. Cant find tire pressure dash display

My 2019 Lariat is in display mode: arrow right once, down twice.
  5. Ranger 5th wheel?

My Ram 5th wheel mount was attached to the frame with u-bolt type mounts. Could definitely be done on a Ranger without drilling the frame. Didn't see the pin weight on the Scamp so not sure if it would be workable with the Ranger. Given the option I would always choose a 5th wheel over a hitch...
  6. Average life of the stock battery?

My 2019 is on it's third, I disabled BMS with number 3 and no more issues.
  7. 2019 Ford Ranger Lariat - New Battery Experience

Yes those should be the only resets needed
  8. Havent seen this posted yet but looks like ford may be increasing ranger production.

I looked at the 3 Ford dealers here and they each have about 20 in stock. Most still have a $7500 markup ?
  9. Remote Transmission Dip Stick Aftermarket Support?

Got mine installed this afternoon. Took less than an hour due to the fit being so nice. After reading about the old stick being so tight I was concerned, but mine popped right away with a breaker bar from above. Cold reading was 2.5 and matched exactly with the new stick. After a short drive...
  10. Rolling in park

I would only feel safe if I could park against a curb or something that would prevent it from rolling.
  11. My USB ports stopped working

I have this one. Scosche CPPDRLK-SP PowerVolt 27W Dash Port USB PD 3.0 Type-C Car Charger Compatible w/ Apple CarPlay & Android Auto Passthrough with USB-A to USB-C Adapter, Charger Socket for Car, Truck, Motorcycle https://a.co/d/5OP7v3t
  12. Trying something different

I have a 19 Lariat and I like the leather seats. I did raise the front of the seat 3/4 inch and that made a difference.
  13. Switch to activate perimeter alarm if Tailgate is opened

I did loop the wire from the hood latch so I will be doing the same this week with finding a mounting point for the microswitch and adding wire to join the new switch in series.
  14. Boost tow capacity (a little?)

After towing multiple hitch trailers I would agree not to push the max limit on your truck. Tow behinds are much less forgiving as you near limits and everything such as wind, load balancing, braking, semi's passing become a bigger factor. Drivability, reliability, and safety will be better if...
  15. Switch to activate perimeter alarm if Tailgate is opened

I did loop into the hood sensor and installed a switch on the tailgate. That does activate the alarm. Am now looking at leaving the gate unlocked to prevent damage.
  16. wiring question?

Should work fine, as long as both relays get power to their trigger they will be active.
  17. Stolen tail light thread

I wired in series with the hood sensor that notifies that the hood is not latched and also sets off the Ford alarm system, and notifies through the app. Installed a weatherproof micro switch on the tailgate. Also did the security screws.
  18. Tremors and high octane fuel

In terms of fuel economy and timing, the big impact will be when cruising under low load. The timing would mostly be advanced due to a low load on the engine, less so due to low engine RPM. The engine control would be maximizing the advance just below the detonation point, so higher octane fuel...
  19. Reset BMS ?

Sounds like the correct process, i do know it takes about 10 seconds before the battery light flashes.
  20. Battery, BMS , charging questions?

Yes it does have bms factory set to 70%. If you are driving short trips the battery is not necessarily bad but may just be undercharged. Could have it tested after fully charging it. I replaced mine due to the same issue but turns out it is fine, so now i have disabled the bms with forscan- no...
