I installed the Ford unit since it connects directly and was much easier than the aftermarket units. My opinion is that the kind of sludge that it removes is not good for the valves, and dual injection systems would not have been created if there were no problems. Time will tell but I would...
My Ram 5th wheel mount was attached to the frame with u-bolt type mounts. Could definitely be done on a Ranger without drilling the frame. Didn't see the pin weight on the Scamp so not sure if it would be workable with the Ranger. Given the option I would always choose a 5th wheel over a hitch...
Got mine installed this afternoon. Took less than an hour due to the fit being so nice. After reading about the old stick being so tight I was concerned, but mine popped right away with a breaker bar from above. Cold reading was 2.5 and matched exactly with the new stick. After a short drive...

I did loop the wire from the hood latch so I will be doing the same this week with finding a mounting point for the microswitch and adding wire to join the new switch in series.
After towing multiple hitch trailers I would agree not to push the max limit on your truck. Tow behinds are much less forgiving as you near limits and everything such as wind, load balancing, braking, semi's passing become a bigger factor. Drivability, reliability, and safety will be better if...
I did loop into the hood sensor and installed a switch on the tailgate. That does activate the alarm. Am now looking at leaving the gate unlocked to prevent damage.
I wired in series with the hood sensor that notifies that the hood is not latched and also sets off the Ford alarm system, and notifies through the app. Installed a weatherproof micro switch on the tailgate. Also did the security screws.
In terms of fuel economy and timing, the big impact will be when cruising under low load. The timing would mostly be advanced due to a low load on the engine, less so due to low engine RPM. The engine control would be maximizing the advance just below the detonation point, so higher octane fuel...
Yes it does have bms factory set to 70%. If you are driving short trips the battery is not necessarily bad but may just be undercharged. Could have it tested after fully charging it. I replaced mine due to the same issue but turns out it is fine, so now i have disabled the bms with forscan- no...
