stock 18 inch wheels, 265/65/18 tires (~32 inches) - I did the UCA's for the suspension geometry. I've read multiple horror stories of using stock UCA's with a suspension level. Most common issues I saw were struggles related to the front geometry. Anything for not being able to get good...
I attempted to do the fox 2.0 kit last weekend, 8 hours later we had the struts in but had to lower the preload collar significantly. Just picked up the truck today from a shop who un-f'd my mistakes....
The videos online are very deceiving.
Finally got leveling kit and upper control arms installed! Fox 2.0 front and rear with Icon upper arms. Amazing step up in on-road ride quality and steering feel, can't wait to take it off road.
The platform itself is not secured in any way, I went through a couple iterations to wedge it into the front and back corners, then you can see pictured I used a 1x10 (cut down to about 1x8) to press into the contours of the bed. Have taken this off road a couple times without any issues. I plan...
Managed to track down some plywood that wasn't over the top expensive and built the drawers for my DIY decked system. Used some scrap wood for the faces of the drawers which is why they look crooked, may end up swapping those out eventually but they'll do for now. Back to Home Depot again later...
Stock truck, similar issue when the trans goes for 10th gear around 40mph. Easiest fix is to lock out higher gears. 4 banger outside of power band without boost will kick and scream.
No joke, it was cheaper to insure my Cadillac CTS-V at 22 years old in Florida, than it is to insure my Ranger in Colorado. The prices are close but Florida just barely wins.
I ended up paying out of pocket, glad I did as my insurance in Colorado went up a little from Florida anyways. Found a local shop that had the repair done in about a week. In the grand scheme of things, it wasn't that much money, but money I would've rather spent on mods.
Shouldn't have any issues (fingers crossed). I bought the lower profile mounting system for the Rhino Rack Pioneer. The antenna issue was due to some poorly run cabling, I still have a good bit of clearance to the garage door motor itself.
Will be doing a dry run with the kit assembled prior...
Congrats on the upgrade! You won't be blinded by headlights or be blown off the road by a sedan.
I rented an EcoSport recently while on a trip and my hat is off to you for willingly purchasing one...
Recently pulled the trigger on some UCA's and a Rhino Rack Pioneer platform. Mounting the pioneer to the camper shell first so I can make sure I like it and there's no glaring issues, if all goes smoothly I will also install a Pioneer with the backbone system to the cab later this year.
Roof...
Little update: finally dropped the truck off today for repairs, part of the roof was torn and requires welding, sanding, and painting to prevent rush. I should hear back tomorrow if they have any additional findings, here's hoping my duct tape kept the moisture out as well as it appeared to be...
