New truck box mounts.
These Weird looking things work way better than these cooler looking ones did. The ones in the second link won't clear the plastic bedrail cap to actually grip the metal bed rail. The new ones were more difficult to get in place, but grip well when tightened.
I moved the front tie downs to the middle. My crossover toolbox makes the front tie downs completely useless, so I moved them to where they'd be useful.
The only thing that really bugs me is that only the driver window is one touch down and up. All window switches should be one touch down period.
All the trucks should have a hitch, 7way and TBC too, but at least those things were pretty easy to add and probably cost me less than they would...
The Liberty is just proportional and manual if you hold the button. It doesn't have the mode where you can set a preset output value when you press the brake pedal. My understanding is that that is useful off-roading. Proportional was all I needed, so I went with the liberty to save a few $.
If you use the Redarc Liberty (as I have), you'll just use the four wires under the dash.
As far as I know, only the Ford module needs to go to the third brake light for the extra Lumen module. I'm guessing if the third brake light would work on its own as the signal wire, then the Ford TBC...
I have a Prodigy P2 in my garage that I don't need and will sell for about half of the new price. PM me if interested.
I went with the Redarc Liberty because I liked the install in place of the left 12v outlet. The Redarc setup was ~$170 at Etrailer.
I sold my 2015 Golf TDI to Carvana after buying my Ranger. They were $2000 above the KBB Private party value and $4500 better than Carmax. I have no idea how they were going to make money selling it. I was completey surprised by the offer and the process was easy.
Mine's probably a little different than most. My previous 2 cars were VW diesels that I installed European hitches on. Euro hitches don't have a receiver tube at all. The swan neck (ball mount) is bolted to the tow bar or there are removable swan necks as well The hitch on my Golf was...
Ignition on should be with the key in the on position on trucks with keys, and on the keyless models, it should be with one push of the button but not holding to start. Just like you would have it if you wanted to roll your windows down without starting the truck.
I used 35 today to wire up my Homelink garage door opener, and it's only hot with ignition on. I went and double checked after seeing this and the opener only works with the key on. I was going to use 37, which I tested as ignition as well, but the add a circuit hits the edge of the box there...
I installed Homelink this morning. I first wanted to put It in the fascia piece in front of the shifter, but it wasn't going to fit. This spot involved cutting the front for the buttons and then also a bigger spot behind for the module. I wired it with an Add a circuit to a fuse that's hot with...
