  1. Yakima Roof Rack on a Supercab

I switched out the 50" Jetstream bars for 68" HD bars today, so I'm adding some pictures here. The bars are maybe a bit long, but I wanted bars that I could also use across the bed with Bedrock HD towers in the future. I wouldn't need to remove the antenna to run my roof box on these.
  2. What did you receive in the mail today for your Ranger?

I don't need either, nor am I necessarily advocating for Amazon, but they seem to have good deals today on a couple of things I see pop up in this thread a lot. Amazon can be kind shady with their percentage discounts, so I can't say if these are great deals even if they say 25-35% off, but if...
  3. Dispelling dealership lies.

I don't have the tow package and my Ranger has these things too. As far as I know, every Ranger has Tow/Haul since hauling could be a bunch of heavy stuff in your bed or your trailer can have surge brakes. Tow package is the factory hitch and a 7way plug. Nice stuff, but that's it.
  4. Farthest Predicted Range After Fill-up

This a typical non-towing tank for me during summer gas season. (Probably about 70% Highway, 10% Interstate, and 20% City) I'm not entirely sure what it bases the estimate off of when I refill, but it normally says 440ish when I'm driving like this. I've had it say much less after filling up...
  5. Vandals targeting "gas guzzlers"

I agree. It's not much of a plus.
  6. Vandals targeting "gas guzzlers"

Only plus to this is that the are just deflating tires and not permanently damaging them. Still not an effective way to make a point in my opinion.
  7. Pulsing 3rd brake light module + TBC

Definitely dealer BS. My dealer tried to charge me $399 for the same thing. Just look up "Pulse Safety." I told them they could remove it or charge me $0. They charged me zero and I removed it when I got home. Pulse advertises to dealers that their product costs like $15, can be installed in no...
  8. SuperCab Love

Didn't know until today that you can get single cab, Supercab, and SuperCrew Rangers in Germany. Here's a link to the SuperCab page. They call it the Extrakabine Here's the page of different Ranger models.
  9. Supercab roof rack

Rhino Rack lists a platform kit for the Ranger SuperCab on their German site. Here's the link to the fitment and what it includes. The part numbers in the list all seem to work with the US site except for the RTS526 tracks. The RTS526 tracks are 34 7/17" long. The shortest on the us site are...
  10. New VW Amarok released

Apparently the Ranger and Amarok share all the same glass, mirrors and door handles. The Amarok also uses Ford's sync4. https://www.drive.com.au/news/2023-volkswagen-amarok-vs-ford-ranger-difference/
  11. New VW Amarok released

Best part of watching this was learning that South Africans call their trucks "bakkies". It'll look better without the roof rack and the silly chase rack.
  12. We don't realize how good we have it here at R5G

I think the forums that serve the not as high volume cars end up being the best. Before the Ranger, I had been in VW TDI land for the last decade. The TDI Club forum was awesome as it was more specific, while VW Vortex, which covered the wider VW world, was just a hole that you could fall...
  13. Supercab roof rack

Not what you are looking for exactly, but Yakima does fit. I couldn't find a picture of the install anywhere before I purchased the fit kit to fit the rack I already had. It's good for the standard Yakima 165 pounds.
  14. What ball mounts are you guys running?

The two trailers I use most work fine with a 4" drop--flat if there is a load on the trailer. If I had a trailer that needed a different height, I guess I'd just buy a simple ball mount for that trailer. I'd have to pull a lot of different height trailers to justify the cost and bulk of the...
  15. Trac Electronics One Touch Window Module Install

My super glue clip repair didn't hold up, so I bought a new switch plate to fix it permanently. The plate is part number AB3Z-99220A70-B and costs around $5.
  16. 2 weeks in! Some observations.

One touch up/down is an easy fix for your SuperCab. https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/trac-electronics-one-touch-window-module-install.16128/
  17. Wiring in brake controller

I have This controller and This mount for the switch. The liberty doesn't have all the modes of the Redarc Tow Pro elite (which is what the ford kit uses) but has proportional braking and a manual override, which is all I wanted and is $60 cheaper. I had and still have a Tekonsha P3 which I...
  18. Wiring in brake controller

The blue plug he's unplugged in the picture is kind of up behind the headlight switch. If you pull down the dash panel and look straight up, you'll see it. it does look like it has plenty of wire to pull it down once unplugged.
  19. Wiring in brake controller

I didn't use the Ford Kit on my truck, so I'm going off of what I've seen here. If that is the correct hot wire for the CHMSL, then you could use it for the trigger of the Lumen module that comes with the Ford kit instead of pulling the interior if you're sure that the Ford Lumen module uses...
  20. Finally got my new '22 Ranger. Some observations and questions..

Mine closes tightly against the stops on both sides. When shut the tailgate sits just a bit in from the bed. Slightly bigger gap on the right, but just above the taillight. Not noticeable. Hopefully yours just needs an adjustment.
