RIP to my 10r80 115,500miles.
On Sunday I extracted about a quart of fluid and replaced with two bottles of Lubegard platinum. Few hard shifts to 5th but it drove fine. Monday I take a 2hr trip on the interstate and the shifts were smooth. At the end of the trip it started to act up. Bucking...
RIP 10R80... 115K
Drain/fill and adding a bottle of lubegard gave me an extra 5k of use. I was pretty optimistic all was fine when the whining noise was 100% gone and the shifting was fine.
Yesterday while on the interstate, 10th gear@70mph, I went to slowly accelerate and the rpms shot up...
Picked up a Dan Wesson DWX yesterday. Been wanting one since they came out a few years ago. It was posted on our local forum. The seller had two of them and this one was never shot. I believe him when he said "brand new". It's immaculate. I'm a little iffy about the red trigger. I had a silver...
In 2021 I used my own own money to buy a 2021 Ford Ranger xlt 2wd. I also had a 2005 GTO. I've gotten many requests to compare the two so I here I go.
My GTO is a yellow jacket 6speed with a LS2 and F16s fly over when I do a burnout. It has a back seat that's slightly smaller. It also slightly...
I have 115k on mine. The belts look good but im thinking I should change them and the tensioner here soon.
But wait.. What if I do change the tensioner and the new one is actually bad and then it cracks the mount?
I leveled my 2wd ranger and I think that's a little over 2inches. I used the screwdriver method and Intially made 10 complete counter clockwise turns. That ended up being way to low. 5 complete turns was perfect.
So depending on your lift.. 5 to 7 turns is where I would start.
I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to the audio world and so I'm a little confused by your comment. What do you mean by that? I hear my rear speakers just fine with the stock setup. Few systems that I have had, in other vehicles, I could clearly hear my fronts and rears.
Extended warranty is about peace of mind. I didn't buy it for my ranger but I do buy it for whatever my wife is driving. If my truck breaks down, I'll find a way to deal with it. Having it on her vehicle is one less thing I have to worry about. Drop it off to honda, get a rental and life moves...
Reddit Gafs and the Gundeals sub reddit, during covid, was brutal. Redditors are savages when it comes to deals. Unfortunately GAFS got shut down recently. Gundeals is still going. Gundeals has been the reason for many websites to shut down when a deal was posted.
Couple years ago PSA was...
Well then, I think you should be fine. I also don't like the idea of not being able to check the fluids. It's a quality piece and worth every bit the price.
I have one similar that I got from harbor freight. It was a open box that was discounted. I don't think mine has an air compressor...
If you have any ability to use a wrench and some patience, it's super easy. It's a little cramped where the stock dipstick is. I think it took me about 15 to 20mins.
They are fine for normal use when new. I don't think it's best idea to reuse them in something as important as the suspension.
Upper ball joint, tie rod and sway bar all seem to use the same m10 nut. Ace Hardware should have them and much cheaper then dealer.
This past Saturday I installed my eibach stage 2R kit. Then today it hit me "none of the nuts had a cotter pin!". Go look and realize they are all nylocks! I'm mad at myself for not realizing this during the install.
Did a Google search and this post pops up. Going ASAP to get new ones for the...
Just my experience from reading this thread and not actually looking at the knob. The counter and clockwise is confusing because I think people are thinking that the screwdriver is in the same position as the socket. If go actually look at the adjustment knob, the screwdriver goes from the top...
Appreciate the info. I just got done installing my eibach stage 2r kit. Next up are the brakes. They still look fine but it's getting there. I also plan on changing the fluid as well.
