  1. Eibach Pro Truck vs Fox 2.0 on road quality question

I've had the truck since September 2020 and came from an 2016 Audi Allroad, very different rides. I've contemplated moving to 17" wheels or upsizing the existing tires. Neither is a cheap option. I'm going to see how the tube sand in the bed helps on my next commute. So far my quick test was...
  2. Eibach Pro Truck vs Fox 2.0 on road quality question

Thanks for the tip. I'll stick with the 78% nitrogen my air compressor spits out. ?
  3. Eibach Pro Truck vs Fox 2.0 on road quality question

It's funny you mention that. I just put 140lbs of tube sand in the bed a just came back from a test drive over some cracked and rippled roads. Made a nice difference.
  4. Eibach Pro Truck vs Fox 2.0 on road quality question

Sounds like I need more sidewall!
  5. Eibach Pro Truck vs Fox 2.0 on road quality question

We have had some big temperature swings from morning to evening. 40°F in the morning, tires set at 30 psi cold. The drive home at 5:00pm, 80°F and TPMS reading 35 psi. I realize that's nothing compared to AZ but do you see the temps go very low at night?
  6. Eibach Pro Truck vs Fox 2.0 on road quality question

Thanks for the quick feedback. I have noticed when these tires get hot, they ride like the Flintstone-mobile. I had a Ranger with 17" wheels for a loaner a while ago and the ride was nicer on the crappy roads.
  7. Eibach Pro Truck vs Fox 2.0 on road quality question

I currently have Eibach ProTruck shocks front (with Ford stock springs set at 3/4" lift)and rear. I've had them for 10,000+ miles with the rears for over 20,000 miles They improved the overall ride from the FX4 wallow. The issue I have is the small bump compliance and I deal with this a lot in...
  8. Is this normal?

Some comedian put a crooked pine needle in there to drive all of us with OCD to the brink. o_O
  9. Tom Woods Driveshaft ordered and installed!

If you have some time, read through this thread. https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/tsb-20-2277-2019-2020-ranger-shudder-vibration-when-accelerating-from-a-stop.8908/ There are numerous stories of Ranger owners and their experiences with Ford. I am one of them. My situation culminated with...
  10. Washboarded Roads

I probably could have but had no idea they were going to look like this. The rears would be easy enough to cleanup and paint, but I'm not taking the front's apart again.
  11. Washboarded Roads

I put Eibach's Pro-trucks (shocks only) front and rear on my Ranger quite a while ago. They definitely clean up the looseness the FX4 shocks have. A word of advice for those who live in areas that use salt on the roads in winter. The Eibach shock bodies will look like crap in short order...
  12. Truck Arrived At Dealership... Damaged

Make your acceptance of the truck based upon the success of the repair. If you like it, agree on a price and be done. If you don't like it, walk away.
  13. Dealer twice in 1 day, going back again

I don't disagree but all techs are handcuffed by guided fault finding. They have to follow the guidelines and procedures the manufacturer sets for troubleshooting and warranty coverage otherwise they don't get paid. I've found a lot of the good troubleshooters move on to independent shops or...
  14. Dealer twice in 1 day, going back again

Disconnect all add-ons that have electrical connections and retest. I'm suprised (but not really) that the technicians didn't do this in their diagnostics or at least suggest it. I had a very similar experience on a 2017 BMW R1200RT motorcycle with CAN bus problems after aftermarket fog lights...
  15. Sleep in your truck

Service Manager: Umm sir. We just sent your truck to 2099 while we were trying to diagnose the plasma core. Customer: When can I get it back? Service Manager: Umm, 2099
  16. Tom Woods Driveshaft ordered and installed!

I'm curious what you would think a reasonable price would be for a one-piece driveshaft.
  17. One Piece Driveshaft

Time-wise it's much quicker to replace the driveshaft than replace the bearing.
  18. One Piece Driveshaft

We are entitled to our opinions. I wish you success.
  19. One Piece Driveshaft

If you guys read through the threads about driveline take-off shudder and vibration you may find trying to achieve the proper angles on your driveshaft will not cure the issue. The problem seems to be more rooted in the soft support material around the driveshaft center bearing (some may call...
  20. Had an appt at the dealer this morning

I put a label on the the back of my key fob with my last name. I have done that since 2006 and the dealerships love it. Makes it easy to find who it belongs to.
