I just checked the dipstick location on my US built 2020 Ranger Lariat. The transmission fill plug is like the Mustang. Definitely no traditional dipstick. My guess is with the word bonnet this is a UK or Australian based document.

I'm wondering if this might explain the differences in shudder I notice between easy driving and heavy stop and go. In heavy stop and go (NYC) the shudder will happen almost continuously during steady slow speed 10-17 mph.

Just a guess, did she happen to change the steering wheel adjustment and not tighten the lever all the way? I had that happen in a car I had but I did it to myself.

That's kind of crazy if they only put a tapered shim on the left side. There should be a tapered shim on each side of matching angles. I believe the only difference according to the TSB is the shim thickness.

Did they take you to witness the angle readings?

I got a similar response from a friend just after I got my truck. The only problem is his shop is five hours away and I don't want to mess with my warranty. Wasn't your truck going in today for the TSB?

None of this give me the warm fuzzies that this TSB is a fix even though the math makes sense. I saw some guys had shimmed the center bearing and had success. I may wait on having the TSB done if this just shifts the vibes. I can live with the take off vibes over high speed vibes. This is crazy!

If they didn't measure/calculate correctly putting the wrong shim in is just as bad as no shim.
