I towed a 24 foot enclosed trailer with a 4 foot v nose empty the trailer is 4200 lbs the truck towed it fine power but it didn't feel solid .so I don't think I would tow a full size truck on a uhal trailer with it

I think they are doing this to stop flat spots in the tires . I am on my second 2020 ranger both had high pressure in the tires and both have Hella flat spots thumping after a few days of sitting .

I don't believe it talks to the ecm or bcm as it has no codes or hard codes .The ford pass app even shows nothing . I will leave it unplugged and not worry about it .

You have proved a point that Ford even thinks it's just fine to not use it . Someone said it talked to the Body Control Module and then to the pcm but that would throw a light and it causes alternator to over charge and destroy the battery and alternator. Well I am unplugging mine for sure now...

Don't have much hope for the Alternator due to its location being close to road debri and water . So don't think it will ware out before it being damaged due to road grime. I know it dosnt throw any codes .

Ya but that causes a parasitic draw if it decided not to auto shut off . Plus unplugging that is free

so this part if unplugged will cause the auto shut off to stop . Was told it is the part that disables it if the battery is low . The question is does this control anything else before I unplug it to stop the auto shut off
