I had them fix a flat on my Mustang once because it was a weekend and everyone else was closed. They somehow managed to fail at that and put the tire back on backwards.
I would get a second opinion from a local reputable tire shop.
I noticed that when I was under my truck the other day. I guess it would deflect a rock, branch or other debris that was thrown up. Definitely not going to stop boulders or rocks on a trail if you come down hard enought.
My SCab was in for a leak repair and they performed the seat belt recall and started the rear restraint recall. I am supposed to get new headrests but, the service department said no ETA on parts. "Probably mid to late Q1 next year" was as much as I could get out of him.
Paid $36,700 before taxes etc four months ago. Dealership offered me $39,000 for it when I had it in for recall work. ?
If only there was anything to pick from if I did trade it in.
4WD also gets you better resale value.
I bought a 4WD because I wanted it. Not for any real need for it. That being said, it is better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
This is off of these big cardboard crates we get some of our stock orders in at my work. They are 3/4" thick. Super comfortable to lay on and they don't get hot in the sun. I keep a small one in the bed now that I have a tonneau cover. Lets me keep an eye on my diff for the next few weeks after...
Installed my Barricade Rattler steps. All in all a very easy process. Loved that the Rangers have threaded holes for the steps from the factory.
Got to flex my electric ratchet and impact as well. So much faster than a hand tool. Also notice my fancy creeper. Only the most premium cardboard.
Update 12/7-12/8
Dropped off the truck 12/7 in the AM. Told me it would be a day to do the work.
Got a message today (12/8) at 11AM that it was done. Invoice says they had to take the rotors, calipers and sway bar to get the drive shaft out.
They also performed two recalls. One for the belts...
Thanks for input everyone. I just ordered an electrician's 1/4" mini ratchet to try and reach the torx from below. If all else fails I will wait until I have access to my dad's lift some time around Christmas.
Let's go in for round two and see how many new swear words I can invent!
So I got a pair of Diode Dynamics fog light pods. To get the fender liner out to remove the factory housings you have to remove a few bolts. One of the bolts is behind the crash bar. I was trying to figure out how to go about as the only video on found on install had the crash bars removed...
So to add to this, I just checked my oil for the first time at 3700 miles (bad truck owner!) and it was about 1/8" over full and to quote San Diego's favorite news anchor " I'm gonna be honest with you, that smells like pure gasoline."
So my truck goes in Tuesday to get its diff leak fixed. I'll...
Especially considering there is another dealer closer to me. I picked them because they are halfway between my house and work. I have also dealt with their other brand dealers and had no problems. The Ford location has not been winning any praise...
Update 11/30
So after ~five calls unanswered I decided to take off work a little early and pay a visit to the dealer in person. Long story short they have had the part since the 12th and supposedly had tried to call me to schedule. Sure... I have no inbound calls from them and they could not...
