  1. What are you using for tow mirrors?

Yeah I am using those mirrors, too. Like your brace fabrication, I'll have to try it out. Like many here I have been logging legal miles since 1974. ( We'll ignore the earlier days of my misspent youth!) The mirrors help some and I do have to readjust at stops occasionally. My mirrors are set so...
  2. Autowbrake trailer brake controller

Now that I got this heavier trailer I plan to use more, that Curt plug and play looks like the right way to go. Read a bit more and I have enough other rewiring and powering plans in my future so simple and safe makes sense. Thanks folks.
  3. What are you guys towing?

OK here's my new to me 2012 Forest River Surveyor SP 220. 4300 lbs empty 7400 GVR. Got a distribution hitch with it. Towed home in a windy storm. Just about as big as I want to haul with the Ranger but it handled it well. Took a picture of that brilliant Japanese maple the day before, all the...
  4. What are you guys towing?

Fun thing you can't tell by the 2 TVs on the pics is there is a flip around swivel mount for a smaller TV which is what we plan to get a 12 volter for later. I let go of the 2 TVs for the hitch in the swap.
  5. What are you guys towing?

Funny enough Sis is moving out from the Springs! Missus on the way there now. Cruise control, proper tire pressure, long flat I-5 stretches in Oregon and tail winds are your friends! :) Often got 14 + when I was well over 60mph. Small 20 foot trailer and that one was slightly taller than the one...
  6. What are you guys towing?

OK we needed to be sure we had extra room and a means to host my Sis in law who's moving out soon to stay at our current small place till we all find a larger home to share, so I am buying this Surveyor to help give her some space until then, and then it'll be a nice getaway unit for the missus...
  7. Water in spark plug well

I had the wet plug hole issue, found by a master tech friend of mine. He took the water out and directed me to Ford for the warranty repair. It was covered but I had to wait for parts as this was during supply chain snafu, a bit over a year or 2 ago. Camshaft busted is freakin weird! They should...
  8. What are you guys towing?

Well this is not looking so good. I think I could cut, grind and drill the passenger side bracket to work, but the driver side frame is pretty dang busy with lines, gas tank and emission stuff. Very crowded in there and with just under 20k on the rig not wanting to risk voiding any warranties...
  9. What are you guys towing?

OK so closed the deal on the sale of my toyhauler, this morning in Grants Pass Oregon. I met him halfway since he had to take it back to North California hills and I have family there so got to visit yesterday. He is using an older Range Rover and the adapter hitches were putting the ball too...
  10. What are you guys towing?

Those pictures made my back hurt! Nice work!
  11. Where’s your dog?

Here is our little "Dragon" American Eskimo mix. Also known as Sir Springs a lot, thus the Super Dog harness cause he so so cute when he does his dynamic leaps!
  12. Where’s your dog?

So sorry for your loss and hate to imagine your hubby's horror to have to experience that as it happened. I had only learned of this thread a couple days ago and was logging on to post pics of our little guy. We send our love, amidst our tears.

Knew I had forgotten one of my favorites!

Also need some Shore line, keys to the sea chest, Military bearing grease, and water for the Captain's compass rose.
  15. Towing a travel trailer

Would you be kind enough to point me to a board you know that has one of these folks? Thanks in advance.
  16. Towing a travel trailer

I don't want to hijack the F150 frame/ranger thread more than I have, already. Interested in feedback here, especially from the Aussies. I've crawled under my truck with the install directions for a couple F150 5th wheel hitches bracket kits. No direct cross over, of course and no easy answer...
  17. Washington WTS 2014 Powersport Sandsport Toyhauler/Camper

Reduced price. Forum members can look for an additional 5% discount. Forum vets 10%. Not in a hurry as I will be moving in a couple months so can fold the coaches up and haul a bunch of $#!^. But I can rent a cargo trailer if this would work for you. Wish I could have afforded something like...
  18. Autowbrake trailer brake controller

Good info! Good lord that looks like a big fifth wheel for our rigs! Nice set up. What hitch are you using and what are the empty and gross weights, please? I'm researching dropping in a Demco 13k auto slider but am taking my time to be careful on the above bed bracket adapter plates to frame...
  19. Towing a travel trailer

That is a cool looking rig. I'm hoping to figure a way to tow a little larger used one I can find for less money. My Toy hauler doesn't have outside storage but I have the factory hard lockable cover, so that works fairly well. Do you know what hitch folks are using?
  20. Veterans only thread.

Hey Bros and sisters, this Coastie is grateful for your service, too! And before you Grunts, Jarheads, Squids and Chair force start the puddle pirate pile on, ya'll have always been glad to see me when I helped fish your aft outa the drink! And to my squid friends, I was on duty at Yerba Buena...
