I replaced my screw in type with a push pin type (still plastic) and it works 1000 times better than the stock stuff. Got them in a kit from Amazon.
Neat they added a bolt instead.
They would use the socket most lost.....
Are you honestly broke/fallen on hard times AND your truck is bucking because that EGR thing has gone to hell?
I have one with 25k that wasn't causing bucking when removed; just the truck wasn't running as smooth- but didn't notice until the new one went on.
I didn't throw it away - will...
... everything I start to think ... F it I'll keep it another one blows the damn trans.
Maybe keep it another year and get away from it before 50k miles. That seems to be a safe mileage for them...
Hope this doesn't cost a small fortune for you.
If I didn't feel fucking weird in a taco I wouldn't be in a Ford. Not comfortable for me. Then I also like hauling ass and.... no comparison between the two. Especially after a relatively cheap box thing that made mine meaner.
Price looks good IMO.
If she fits, awesome
If she doesn't mind...
OK seriously. Until they mod this part I am adding it to the list of stuff to do every 25k miles. This is silly.
What the hell Ford.
Note. A quality rep from Ford just applied to my company. If we don't pick them up I am tempted to email them and be like.. wtf over? Fill trans right and fix...
Having a remote clamp remover also helped make short work of that. Looks sort of like someone took a bike brake and made a tool out of it.
But that is probably overkill for this. Needle nose would work once you can get them on the stupid clamp things that are a bit awkward in general. The short...
Swapped mine before big issues started at 25k. It seems they were getting ready to start. I guess I failed to notice it lacked or lost some smoothness to it as it may have been a slow change. Noticeable difference with the new thing in place. Like changing really old spark plugs sort of change...
After 5k miles. Same spot I left it on the last change.
So got lucky with that issue I guess.
Also a check at dead cold this morning. Yanked the stick, cleaned it, and got a good reading. Sucks for those that can't even check it cold.
Warm just after shut down..... it would somehow be...
25k miles and pads are good. I normally get 100k out of almost everything I drive... but we will see with this one and it using the rear brakes alot for traction control. My last rwd would just cut power like crazy. I like this setup better. Even if it eats the pads a bit.
Wow. That is extra special for an already special engine when it comes to this issue.
I really wonder what the cause is.. ?? I've heard some gen of the 350z had that issue because of the head dumping oil down the same passage the dip stick uses to the crankcase. Not 100% on how true that is etc.
Agreed - 100% so;
Dead cold on this one. Reads the same as waiting 30+ minutes when hot. I tend to swap back and forth when I check to make sure I am not gaining fluid in the crankcase or dropping.
Book says to wait 15min but I've had mixed results with that. Checking at the gas station is...
The fact some have this horrible problem and others don't makes me think Ford knows it has a bad part (HPFP or Injector(s)?) and doesn't want to fix it. Just claims normal because a little fuel mixed in on a direct injected engine is... maybe?
That or I drive like an arseclown enough I cook...
No smartass/sarcasm... if you make a build it right list.. make a separate post/share? That or PM... screw the haters :D
I'd love to get a busted 10R80 and rebuild it myself for when it goes wrong or I find the time to swap a bullet proof trans and sell a working version to someone screwed by...
