Good vid man. I've been using the string method for years ( similar ). This will definitely help some folks out.
  2. Lift/leveling new suspension and new tires--looking for some advice

Just one short section heading up to Leavitt Lake off 108, only on 3 wheels once each on the way in/out. Haven't had any rub there or any milder off road so far. The Wildpeaks I put on were 32.7 inch diameter, if the tires you choose are that or smaller you should be good. That being said If...
  3. It was AWESOME!

I got to run my buddies 2 year old Tundra this last weekend out on the Black Rock Playa from a dig to 100mph, the little Ranger was victorious by about 2 truck lengths.
  4. Rock Sliders

I would have ordered those too if they didn't have a problem with the jig they make them on on that one side. I went with Rocky Road instead and I'm 4 days short of a 2 month wait for them to make them without a peep. What are you going to do though, these are small companies basically making...
  5. Lift/leveling new suspension and new tires--looking for some advice

You should be able to get a 265/70 R18 in your truck with no rubbing with one of the kits that have at least a 2" raise of the front. I went with the Ford Performance Fox 2.0 kit and I'm very happy with the results for ride on/off road. If you want to go higher the Old Man Emu kit will be...
  6. The PIC whore club! Come on in!

Took a trip out to Black Rock desert. Just getting on the playa, truck is fairly clean, it won't be in a few hours. The actual Black Rock (point), 30 miles from where we entered the lake bed. We'll be going over the shoulder on the left to get to another little playa that's behind it...

I went with the Ford 2.0 and was able to fit 265/70 r18 in WITHOUT removing the crash bar.

  11. Ever Air-Up Your Tires with a BICYCLE PUMP? I did!

Is that thing really that good Dave, I need a 12v for mine and would rather not spend $300 to get one worth while.
  12. Mexican? Ranger with Texas plates in 2016

I remember seeing them in the Philippines, when we spent a couple weeks there 3 or 4 years ago, I was telling my wife " that would be a nice pickup for us, hope they make it to the USA ".
  13. Would You Look @ That

    That was a bit of a hole.:whew:
  14. Aftermarket Bed/roof rack system

Looking at that it appears you will gain almost an inch of height running the Yak system on a cover the way they have the brackets turned around.
  15. California 265/60r18 stock Hankooks 5k miles $200

    Sold for asking locally.
  16. Aftermarket Bed/roof rack system

I don't think it does fit any higher mounted to a cover. You end up getting rid of the clamp plates and they are at least 1/4' thick, then you use Yakimas adapter for the rail systems most covers come with, then the plate welded to the towers attaches directly to that. It looks like I have...
  17. Aftermarket Bed/roof rack system

Don't have a cover but just got done mounting the Yakima.
  18. What did you do to your Ranger today?

Couldn't help myself, did it one handed.
  19. What did you do to your Ranger today?

It's a good day, Stopped by the local rack place and picked up the Yakima Outpost HD with 60" crossbars and the short sidebar pack. Might be a few days before I can instal them as I'm not supposed to lift anything with my right arm for about 8 weeks, may take a shot at getting the wife...
  20. Elbow saver

I just got a 2 pack of those for my knees on the center console and door panel ( 38" inseam ). They do have a nice medium feel to them. They will probably hold up a good period of time before they break down appreciably.
