Great find. It says the hole spacing is approx. 3.65" on center and the factory holes are 3.75" on center. So it would be best to widen out the spacing when opening the holes up for M8 threads. EDIT: It also comes in a 4 pack.

@lawrench I got this response from Redtek Sunday evening, but nothing since. Meanwhile I got this from an electrical engineer co-worker. If I don't hear anything else in the next day or two, I'll take matters into my own hands by swapping the corresponding pins in the Redtek harness.

The two taps are only for the lock/unlock signal so that couldn't be the cause, but I triple checked anyway. They're correct. I think you're right about a couple of pins being in the wrong places. It could be in the harness or the black box. I disconnected it and everything went back to normal...
