Exact same experience. I was totally happy with the AT3 4S in all conditions including glare ice, deep snow etc.. Totally exceeded my expectations.
I'd be amazed if there wasn't a bit of a wear penalty for summer months, almost would consider putting the Hankooks back on for summer road trip...
As mentioned above I elected to go with a gamble on finding a tire that worked all seasons and it turned out to be a winner -- the Coopers. I have the Hankooks almost new sitting in my garage and not planning to put them back on - look for them on kijiji. ;) I went as far up size as I could...
BTW, I passed an F-150 the other day on my way up. TBF he had a big sled (snowmobile for non-Canadians, lol) in back though otoh that should have helped weight wise.
Nope, was waiting until after spring when we didn't need truck and have some $ to splurge. Though now is when we need the suspension, lol. I will report back when we do.
I'll look at lowering the pressure. I'm pretty sold on need for suspension fix here.
It's getting to full mud season here, and the road up to the ski hill makes a great proving ground for suspensions. It's a mess of crazy washboards, ruts, bumps. What's hilarious is that our EV (Nissan Leaf)...
I guess I'm wondering if it's different wihtout factory tow, but my understanding is that there aren't any other differences except lack of harness and hitch. Maybe someone can confirm that.
Dud you have factory tow package? Did you pay for install or DIY? I actually really prefer the box controllers like that because you have everything at hand as well as LED readouts, etc.. having towed an Airstream for a year and a half fulltime there are just situations that come up where you...
So, reading through quite a bit of this thread I'm still not clear on best route for those of us without factory tow. I'm planning on installing the Draw-Tite Class III(76275) and Curt T-Connector C56431.
1. What are people recommending for the case where we don't want bluetooth/echo? Looking...
So ... after a few months on them and now having driven them in every condition; deep snow, glare ice, mixed goop I can 100% recommend the Cooper AT3 4S as the first tire I've used that is actually fully four season capable. Total win for me.
Beauty! My only regret on truck is I couldn't find one with appearance package so went with straight Lariat. Racks are cool with look. Only change I'd make is peeling off the FX4 badges, I think it would look even cleaner that way.
Amazing what a 2" or so lift and +1 or so tires will do to the look of the Truck!
How are you liking the ride with the Eipbach's?Considering that or the Fox / Ford.
Update, we've have unseanably cold weather here, got the AT3 4S up to ski hill where it was near -10C (~15F). Not glare ice, and road was pretty well sanded in most places but def some slippery bits and the tires did not give me any sense of discomfort at all. Highway travel on mixed asphalt...
Yeah, I don't want a deflector but the protector almost but not quite covers it but would cover damaged paint area and perhaps can pull out rest. Someone at my Ford dealer had it installed on her truck and it didn't look bad. My main concern is resale. I feel like I would have to disclose issue...
