I bought a magnetic 19mm socket and the long 1/2ā extension shortly after I bought the truck for towing. I knew Iād need to check the fluid and decided to make it as easy as possible on my self.
I looked at generic dipsticks, and didnāt like what I found, and then the Fitzstick was created...
It is tight, but a long ratchet or breaker bar should be able to get the cap loose.
As far as the wheel well liner, I did not remove it. I could reach through the back part just fine.
A few notes. It was cold and snowy, but I was indoors, though unheated and I did the install.
After having previously checked the fluid, I knew my plan. I pull the front right tire. Itās not necessary, but makes it very easy. Then I use a really long extension and flex for a socket with magnet...
Late to the thread. Lots of towing with my Ranger. Blue Sumos help. Bilstein 4600ās on the rear just make the truck much more comfortable. Prefer the P3 brake controller in my other truck, but have the Ford Redarc tied into the Rangerās AEB. I use an Equalizer hitch, but they are heavy. I do...

Later this year Iāll do a service and aftermarket pan.

There was no SG 3 when I bought mine, and Iām guessing they had to figure the code out since we went back and forth on email, but they got it and it works. Iād have to search the forum or email to find it.
Bought the Motivx mentioned on the forum a couple of years ago and did the sand/grind down mod so it fits perfectly. Itās just nice not to have to hold the funnel while pouring. Like a damper, not essential, but nice. The damper simply made me too weak to hold the funnel anymore.
Yes, family Christmas is more important than a dipstick, although I will be glad when my purchase time comes. A few years ago I made the decision to be with my parents every Thanksgiving and Christmas until they die. I know itās getting pretty close, but Iām thankful for those times. So, go...
