I would be willing to try it cautiously. I wouldnāt force the truck, but sometimes they break free, and sometimes the tension lets you cut additional roots and then you can get it. I only have 2WD trucks and have done it with no adverse effects. Just donāt be stupid about it.
Nope. I driveām ātill they die. Still got my ā98 Chevy 2500, and still got my new car. Itās a 2016 Corolla. I expect a lot more years out of both of them. The Ranger is practically brand new at ā21 and 36,000 miles.
I agree, but just one example of a 5th wheel you could tow. There are others, but not too many in the US market. Most tow the Escape with an F150, although I also know of at least one Taco.
Itās a very nice dipstick. Itās much easier to check levels. It is factory quality in every way. It is vastly superior to the other aftermarket dip stick options available. I you expect quality, this is the one.
Retired at 48. Itās been great. I still freelance when I want to. Mostly travel. In Iceland now. I could have worked longer and made a lot of money, but having the time is more important to me.
Just saw your post. Yes you have to raise it high to get the bars on. You can use a hook or lever type tool and slide the bars on without picking it up as high.
Do you mean the height to get the bars on, or the towing height? At 750lbs of tongue weight, there will be some sag, lowering of the back end, even if you measured the front and got your weight distribution set up properly.
I also question where you got your 750lbs weight. You really have...
My ā98 C2500 has been a very reliable and long lasting truck. Only my Toyota Corolla has held up better. I can only hope my Ranger joins their ranks.
Nice info. Since I have the standard PPE, not deep, Iām going to roll with it. I wondered how hot was too hot. I had 225 once and let it cool a bit. Fortunately, the Fitzstick has ULV written on it.
I had gasket issues, but also many more issues. No Subaru support and just junk. Finally drove it to town on 3 cylinders with messed up brakes at 139K miles and got $750 and was happy to see it go. I spent a ton of time and money to keep it on the road.
Unlike some, I donāt have a disdain for Tacoās. Our 2016 Corolla has 146,000 miles on it with nothing but maintenance. A Taco simply wonāt tow or carry enough. There was only ONE midsize truck that met my minimums, and it was about $8K less than any full size. I also already own a ā98 3/4 ton...
Canāt help on plugging stock pan. I saw unprotected plastic and at 30K miles I did the standard PPE pan and get a 10 degree temp reduction towing. Works for me.
Test drove a truck. Right then knew on day one when I got my Ranger 4x2 I new blue Sumos and 4600ās would go on the rear. Got truck, drove it home, changed bump stops and shocks same day. I tow a lot. At 36K miles getting ready to put the 4600ās on the front.
