So a visit to the dealer today revealed that they will get the ball joint covered. Even after I told them I squirted some grease into with a needle ( to no avail). Fortunately both the service advisor and the tech heard and noted it last week when I had it in for the HPFP fiasco. So it looks...
So, after an up close illuminated inspection with the wheel off I found a tiny hole in the boot. So much for ESP coverage. Trying to figure out plan B.
I monitored my temps on a 40+ mile drive earlier this week. Used my OBD link app on my IPhone. So it was a 60f/15c day and the vast majority of the drive was 45-50mph tops. Equal slow and highway amounts. It ran at 195.8f /91c for 80+% of the drive. When slowing down it would drop to 194f/90c...
I thought about that but you would need two different ID washers because off the top mount using a pilot sleeve. Then I felt that washer thickness you would need might eat up too much of the pilot sleeve space. But maybe it would be okay? I just didnāt want to mess with it.
See picture. I also ground a bit off the backside of the stop because I felt it was a bit too close ( my bit was sketchy so pardon the workmanship). It makes the belt change much easier for sure. I would love to know why they did what they did.
Looked up other model 2022ās with the 2.3L to see...
Ran mine this week after grinding clearance to obtain full spring tension. Did fine , no issues. But I have to bring my truck in next week for the HPFP replacement under warranty. That process involves removing the intake manifold which is too close to the tensioner area. So I swapped the...
I havenāt used this but it has a few good reviews. I would not use their filter or gasket but thatās me. Their marketing really needs help though . Z71 ???
Yes. Did a couple things today with it.
Swapped the comfort bushings for the street bushings. And did away with the gold washers and replaced with same thickness fender washers. Street bushings brought back noticeable vibrations. Not horrible but nothing that I would care to drive with. So I...
Theyāre going to replace the HPFP. Parts are on order. Obviously they will also change the oil but Ford will not pay to sample it. But they will grab a sample of it for me if I provide the container.
Adding this to this thread
So I have an update to my saga with fuel dilution. I posted previously that at my last oil change which was with 3700 mile on the oil was at 6.7% . That was all warm weather driving. Then I retested the new oil at 200 miles and it was 4.9% in the fall. Did another test...

FYI - Just got this today from Rock auto. Looks to be a direct replacement to the Spicer/Ford one. I ordered it to have on hand because I destroyed mine to replace it with the JXB performance one. Didnāt want to be without if that didnāt work out.
Much cheaper than the Ford and made by Marmon...
