  1. The Most Important Question - Getting Dogs In

That's kind of what I've been doing, but not sustainable for the long run for me I don't think. Really sorry to hear you lost your buddy. Never easy, but 14 is a great long time for a big dog!
  2. The Most Important Question - Getting Dogs In

Ok friends, most important question regarding this pickup! I have a 6 year old 100lb dog, and now he has to jump much higher than my 2003 Ranger. He can do it now, but I'm sure in some years he won't, it's a high jump man! I purchased THESE folding stairs, but they didn't really work as the...
  3. Thin Sound When Shutting Front Doors

Yeah, my comment is not about the quality of the doors as they shut, but more the "tooonggg" sound when they close. Literally like hitting an empty oil drum. It makes them sound cheap and reflects poorly on the vehicle. Again, not knocking the quality or craftsmanship of the doors. Just that...
  4. Thin Sound When Shutting Front Doors

Yeah, sorry, didn't mean to imply you were saying that at all. More of a generic statement but definitely not directed at you. I apologize if you read it that way. I'm actually not that upset really, just disappointed that I have to deal with this. I'm pretty handy, but as a small business...
  5. Thin Sound When Shutting Front Doors

It's kind of odd how I got this one. I test drove a similar model at a dealership and the door sounded totally fine, and then this one popped up with more features at a different dealership. I figured since I'd test drove one 2020, this one was gonna be the same. I spent more time negotiating...
  6. Thin Sound When Shutting Front Doors

Thanks! I suspect it will require me tearing the door apart and fixing, but one way or another, I'll get it sorted out :)
  7. Thin Sound When Shutting Front Doors

It sounds like 2019 were solid, then half of the 2020's were crap, and 2021 solid again. I'm guessing Covid related and rushed assembly when they were allowed.
  8. Thin Sound When Shutting Front Doors

For sure. Going to go back to the dealer and compare other models and see what they say. My guess is they will tell me to kick rocks.
  9. Thin Sound When Shutting Front Doors

Reading elsewhere and here, I am thinking that it must have been a Friday afternoon at end of shift when my Ranger was built and they just missed it, where others like yours were properly sound proofed/tuned. My $25K Subaru sounds solid and well built compared to my new $42K Ranger. I'm...
  10. Thin Sound When Shutting Front Doors

Thanks. Good video. I'm hoping I don't have to do this as I feel it's Ford's issue, not mine. But good to know this is an option.
  11. Thin Sound When Shutting Front Doors

I’m not sure. They shut normally. From the inside of the truck it sounds fine. How would I verify the latches are adjusted correctly?
  12. Thin Sound When Shutting Front Doors

I just picked up a 2020 Lariat Quad Cab, and the front two doors sound like I'm hitting an empty oil drum when shutting them. It's a terrible sound and I'm really surprised at how crappy and cheap it makes the pickup seem. I paid $42k for this thing, and it sounds like a freaking Yugo. I know...
  13. 2019 vs 2021 Ranger cost cutting moves for Ford

I was actually going to post here about this exact thing. My 2020 Lariat doors sound like I'm hitting a empty oil barrel when I close them. Sounds so f'n cheap. Cars that cost half the price sound better. And look, I get that they "tune" doors and it makes no structural difference when they...
  14. Adding Trailer Hitch Question

You'd prob just need an adapter like https://tinyurl.com/ye9d54y6 but I've not used one so not sure how it would translate power that's needed for some trailers. Also prob wouldn't work for powered brakes. If you need those, you'd need one of the wiring adapters I linked above.
  15. Adding Trailer Hitch Question

    That's a good point.
  16. Adding Trailer Hitch Question

My 2020 Ranger did not come with a trailer hitch (so dumb it's not standard) and I am planning on adding one. I've been looking through all the threads about trailer hitches, and I had a question. I see a lot of folks are getting the Curt hitch, and then purchasing wiring harness and 7-pin...
  17. FordPass Reward Points - How do these work?

Yeah man, that’s actually exactly what I did. Called another dealer a bit further away and dude knew all about how things worked. Ridiculous first place was so inept.
  18. FordPass Reward Points - How do these work?

So I called my local dealer Pierre Ford in Seattle, and they were clueless. No one knew what to do with them and said they could only be used for oil changes, but they weren't even sure about that. That's totally not correct from what I'm seeing here. Any advice how to educate the dealer?
  19. FordPass Reward Points - How do these work?

Just did that, but didn't see points attach. Will look further. Thanks for the heads up!
