Thanks for that. I hadn't seen that before. I have Been doing some research and found the 10R80 doesn't have a thermostatically a controlled check valve like other transmissions, so in agreement with your comment, fluid temp shouldn't matter. Just to put it out there ULV viscosity, while already...
For the same reason you don't change your oil when it's cold. I don't have to change it that hot, of course, but I want to get as much out as I can each time I do it, so It's going to be at least 130° when I do. ?
Received my funnel yesterday, I'll be using it this week. Thank you Mike!!
Question for the guys who use the pump method to drain the trans: I want to avoid the possible disaster of getting coated with 150°-200° ULV when I'm under the truck. At what temperature have you drained your...
I was thinking because the turbo is a centrifugal compressor, if the cold side outlet is blocked the pressure will go up. Conversely, if the cold side intake is blocked the pressure will decrease. Exhaust side blockages will always cause a drop in cold side pressures.
Yep, it's a Retrax clone. They come with/without t-slots; auto(spring) & manual retract, and electric operation. The bulkhead to canister seal is a 1½" thick strip of dense, self adhesive foam.
I'd like to add a locking point at the middle of the tailgate to limit someone prying it up there...
I finally ordered a relatively inexpensive retractable from Synatecusa. It's got the t-slots I wanted and the canister is only 9"x9" so my little short bed hasn't lost too much space. Installation was simple and the operation is smooth. One downside is that it's got 2 locks instead of just one...
I've also been looking at t-covers and just can't pull the pin! I like the security and low (read 'zero') profile of retractables, but don't like the loss of bed volume. And I want t-rails so I can mount a rack to carry my "pod" and the occasional long pieces of steel and lumber I use...
High-speed, thin metal sound. Sounds like metal-on-metal to me. Have an assistant bring the revs up until you hear the sound and work your way around the engine with a length of hose, tubing, or use a long-handled screwdriver to narrow down and hopefully pinpoint where the sound is coming from.
Looks easy enough for a DIY. I've got a rattle from the rear that started about a month after installing new Eibachs, so I thought was a loose shock. It turns out the plastic bed rails had loosened.
Reviving this thread for an FYI: I replaced the stock fan sensor hose with some high pressure fuel line that I stiffened with short length of soft-drawn copper tubing. Since this thread began, I've wondered what the start-up torque was on that hose and what it was while running. I pulled the...
I got the Mishimoto, and the lower hose was truly a pain in the a$$ to install. It's a blind, 'by-feel' install. I check the can once a month, and so far there has been very little oil/condensate captured through last summer. This winter though, I was getting about ¼" of oil & water monthly...
$50 - Has less than 25miles, used once. Cast aluminum wheel.
I'm in the SF bay Area and can deliver if you're fairly close. I'll be traveling to Bozeman after July 4th so PM me, if you're on my route I can drop it off.
This following falls under the "No sh*t" catagory:
Jobs have left the U.S. because:
#1 - Foreign manufacturer's labor costs are extremely low compared to the U.S.
#2 - This, of course, means that the same product made here will be more expensive. So, obviously, U.S. companies move production...
