  1. Anyone else getting a lot of paint chips on their ranger?

My truck has developed more paint chips in one year than my old 2011 ranger did in eight years. They are both the same color. The 2019 ranger had chips in it on delivery, I'm assuming from the transport from the factory. The paint is almost unbelievably thin.
  2. SuperCab XLT Seat Delete

I purchased them at Cooper Ford in Carthage NC (my local dealer). Others have ordered them for a similar price, but you may need to order online.
  3. 2019 Ford Ranger Gas Mileage

As you can see from the attachment, my lifetime average is 23.4 mpg. This is not the dash reading, but the actual calculated fuel mileage over 20250 miles. The original dash reading was about 1.5 to 2 mpg high, I have since adjusted it to read correctly. I have got as low as 19 mpg on one tank...
  4. SuperCab XLT Seat Delete

It's very noisy before you replace the trim with the new pieces, it's about the same with the new trim pieces in place.
  5. SuperCab XLT Seat Delete

No, I left the seat belts in place.
  6. Loud pop and vibration.

I have experienced a VERY strange problem twice now. The first time this happened I was on a job site. I had backed up and then started forward when I heard a loud pop and a strong vibration from under the truck; my first thought is that I must have run over a loose piece of lumber and bounced...
  7. Air bags, helper springs, or something else a good idea?

I installed some air springs, they do the job. I run most of the time with little weight in the bed, but I sure do load (overload) it at times.
  8. Bad plugs

I wish I had your Ford dealer. Having a technician who cares is a good find.
  9. Engine shutter.

It's nice that you have a dealership service department that gives a damn, you're a lucky guy.
  10. Engine shutter.

Ben No, my shutter only occurs from a cold start when the ambient temperature is about 60-70 degrees and under light throttle; it is a dead engine miss on one cylinder. if the engine is warm or the ambient temp is out of that range, the problem does not occur. The problem you are describing I...
  11. MPG according to the ranger vs Real

I guess I'm in a camp that most truck owners couldn't give a rats butt about; I actually drive like I want to get the most miles out of a gallon of gas. Don't get me wrong, nobody would ever accuse me of being a slow driver, I rarely pull away from a light without pulling away from traffic, I...
  12. Who has the 4X2 Rangers

The electronics do a great job of simulating a limited slip differential (without the friction penalties). The locker is best suited for soft ground from a dead stop or for a boat ramp type situation.
  13. Who has the 4X2 Rangers

Is your mileage read off your dash display, or actually calculated ?
  14. Who has the 4X2 Rangers

I average a fuelly app verified 23.8 mpg.
  15. Who has the 4X2 Rangers

I have a 2WD ranger and very often drive on soft ground job sites. I do have a locking differential and that is worth EVERY penny; without it I would have gotten stuck several times, but stop and push the button and it just pulled right out of the hole.
  16. Bed Step

I'm in the same boat, I to have a trailer hitch.
  17. 2020 Fx2 vs 4x2 w/ locker

    Very helpful information, thanks.
  18. Spot on review of Ranger IMHO

Spot on review. I would never consider owning a full size truck at any price. I have bought Fords all my life, but if Ford hadn't brought back the Ranger, I would have changed to another brand.
  19. Bed Step

Please do let us all know, if it fits, I'm ordering one.
  20. Regular vs premium anyone else notice huge difference?

I've been running regular since day one and I average 23.8 mpg actual (fuelly app verified) and I use it as an actual work truck. If I got 20% better with premium, that would be 28.5 mpg.
