  1. THE RANGER BOUNCE

I decided to try raising the air pressure this morning and I can confirm you are correct. I assumed that raising the air pressure would make the truck bounce even more, but just the opposite is true. I have a 2WD supercab.
  2. Ride Quality

I didn't follow my own rule (always wait for reviews) and bought the newly available Fox 2.0 shocks for the rear in hope that it would reduce the bouncy ride. Unfortunately, I can report that is made no difference to speak of. I can't say if it will improve things when it really gets loaded...
  3. Considering a SuperCab, Anybody Regret Buying a SuperCab?

It's true, once you remove the back seats, the truck will be noisy as hell unless you spend the 300 bucks for the new trim pieces. If Ford would offer the seat delete package on the XLT or Lariat, you would be about 550 bucks ahead of the game with the fact that you would not have to buy the...
  4. Considering a SuperCab, Anybody Regret Buying a SuperCab?

No regrets with the super cab here. I bought it as a work truck and have no use for the back seats. The first thing I did was to remove the back seats to make more room for storage. I love the fact that I do have doors to access said storage though (unlike my 2011 ranger extended cab). A 5 foot...
  5. Talk some sense into me....although this may not be the best place for that

I did replicate the same with 6 other rangers, including the FX4. F150's were 1 to 2 rebounds better, except for the Raptors, you can't get them to bounce if you paid good money, no-mater how hard you push. I haven't lowered the air pressure in the tires, as I don't want to lower the gas...
  6. Dashcam install

Thanks for sharing. I had a dashcam in my old Ranger, I'll be adding one to my new Ranger soon as someone crosses into my lane at least twice a week around here, it's just a matter of time before I won't be able to react fast enough to avoid them.
  7. Horrible MPG's

It sounds like it's your drive cycle that's the main culprit. Just curious, is there any soot present in your tailpipe ? Mine is clean as a whistle.
  8. Horrible MPG's

I average 23.7 over 10 tankfuls (actually calculated) about 3500 miles so far. No one would ever accuse me of being a slow driver, I usually drive 5 to 8 mph over the speed limit on average. I accelerate at a moderate pace unless I need to do otherwise, I also floor it when passing. It's...
  9. Talk some sense into me....although this may not be the best place for that

Thanks for doing the test. It may be that I have a or some bad shocks, I will investigate soon. I think I will go to the dealership this weekend and bounce me some Rangers.
  10. Talk some sense into me....although this may not be the best place for that

Doug It does not prove anything to anyone else, but I did it the same way while maintaining the same height, weight and strength. I did the test myself on about 8 different vehicles, 7 of the 8 results were very similar, only one osculated 5 or 6 times, and that was my Ranger.
  11. Talk some sense into me....although this may not be the best place for that

Rob, the way I do it is at a front or rear corner, at the front I push on the hood and the bumper, or the rear I push on the bed and bumper. I push hard four times and let go. I just did it again with the same results. If you or someone else could try it my way and report back, that would be...
  12. Talk some sense into me....although this may not be the best place for that

6000 under invoice is a great price, almost too good to be true, I would want to see that in writing. Bumpy and jittery is in fact how they ride, it does not seem to bother a lot of people, but it sure does me. A good set of premium tires can fix the harshness of the jitters by quite a bit (it...
  13. Rear Storage/ Mobile office

Yeah, I load up the bed also. I carry a bed extender that plugs into the receiver hitch. I often carry 16' lumber and have on occasion carried 20' material with a weight on the front of the load. After every house build I fill the bed up with all kinds of materials and equipment. At least once...
  14. Rear Storage/ Mobile office

My main purpose for ordering my new Ranger was to make it so that I could actually get to all my tools and safely haul all the stuff that was so iffy on my old model Ranger. My old Rangers were functionally one-seaters because of all my stuff stored in the passenger seat and foot-well. I removed...
  15. 2019 Ranger MPGs

My average is still going up, it's 23.7 now. http://www.fuelly.com/dashboard
  16. New Tires = New Ranger

Jeff My biggest complaint on that particular thread was the wet traction rating of a B. I have mentioned the jittery ride on several other treads long before I joined the thread in question. As I have not driven the new tires in the rain, I can not speak to how they perform, but what I do know...
  17. New Tires = New Ranger

I have stated on other treads that I was very dissatisfied with the tires Ford decided to put on my 2WD ranger which are Bridgestone Duelers H/T 685's. I really did not wan't to buy new tires for a brand new truck and originally I was going to drive on these crap tires for another year or so. I...
  18. What the #$%^ is wrong with my Ranger?

Logic would dictate the the 84% of tires available that are in the A category would be the "standard".
